Our space consists of a studio which measures 32x16, as well as a lobby and a separate (optional) conference room. It is perfect space for photography as well as video. There are 10' backdrop bars on two walls, hooks and grommets and a variety of backdrops are always available. The walls are white and the space can be completely blacked out. We are ideally located, close to LAX, the 405 and 105 freeways, a copy shop, Trader Joe's, a gorgeous park and lighted track. There is food across the street and down the block, and a ton of establishments for food, supplies and the beach located all within a mile or two. Our entrance is through a comic book store. It is not store-front, and the space is a bit quirky and fun - perfect for the studio space we have created. The space is owner run and owner used. We are extremely well equipped. We include access to Einstein strobes, modifiers, backdrops and grip supplies with each booking. Additional options are available for video lights, including Kino Flo 4x4s, LED panels, fresnels, video switching and live production systems, field recorders, quality microphones, and much much more is available. We have a wide variety of cameras, including a Canon 5ds, Canon 1dx II, Canon 1dx, Canon 7dII, Blackmagic 4k Studio II, PTZ Cameras, 360 Cameras and an Edgertronic 20,000 fps Camera, 2,000,000th second t.1 flashes. We charge for paper used ($4/foot). I have been in the photography and video business for two decades and am available to help, educate and more. My time is valuable. I include 15 minutes to assist in getting you up and running and charge time at the rate of $50/hour for on-site assistance and $125/hour for consulting/photographic services assistance. Please note, that we do impose longer minimum stays for weekends and holidays; typically not less than 4 hours. These days tend to be in high demand and we tend to make other plans for ourselves. Please inquire of course. THE CONFERENCE ROOM and EDITING STATION The conference room is an optional add-on. If the room is available, we are happy to rent the conference room as part of your studio rental for an additional $15/hour. The space is perfect for breaks, a work table, team chats and more. We can supply an editing station. Our studio is equipped with state-of-the-art computers and software (the Adobe Suite, motion control, stop motion software, astrophotography editing and much more) to accomplish all of your goals, and more. We can include an editing station for an additional charge. LIVE STREAMING and VIDEO We are experts and expertly equipped to provide live streaming and audio/video recording services. We can record your production session for behind-the-scenes/social media footage, or you can run your production as a training, networking or marketing video interacting with your audience. Our systems allow for live graphics, call-ins, overlays and much more. Let us know if we can be of assistance in this regard. ARRIVAL and DEPARTURE INFORMATION Remember that your booking starts at the start time and ends at the end time. We often have other guests and schedules to manage. Allow sufficient time to arrive, setup and prepare before your production time, and also to allow for completion, breakdown and clean-up. Your rental ends when the room is restored. We charge overtime at the designated rate for time approved in advance, and time-and-a-half for additional time on weekends or situations in which we are required to staff your event. We ask for a certificate of insurance. Other rules are as follows: The space and all contents, equipment and fixtures must be left in the same condition as they were when the space was arrived. In addition, other rules are as follows: 1. No smoking whatsoever is allowed in the space. 2. No intoxication or non-prescription or illegal drugs. 3. Music is to be kept at reasonable levels. 4. No pets allowed without prior consent. 5. Rental time starts at the designated time and ends when the last person in your group walks out of a clean and restored space. Please keep this in mind when planning and making reservations. If you will need extra time to set up or break down, factor this in to your time. 6. This is typically a quiet space, not a sound proof space, and there is a possibility of noise/distraction. 7. Only designated gear will be used. 8. All garbage shall be removed. 9. If there are any other issues, you will contact a designated contact person immediately so that we can work to resolve your issue. We work very hard to satisfy your needs, but are not responsible for issues which are not immediately brought to our attention. For studio and production-related guests we do require a certificate of insurance naming Manhattan Beach Studios LLC as an insured. There are daily/event insurance policies that can be purchased. Otherwise, it is generally easy to have your own provider provide this documentation.

Mark and his space are awesome. Our workshop was a great success. The technology availablen is great. No need to bring your own and so easy to use. I think it took less than five minutes to be up and running. I think the location is convienent and there were plenty of local places to grab lunch. I highly recommend checking out this space. Our full day event without a hitch! Thank you Mark and team!
The space was good. Everything was tested one day before and worked properly. Coordinating the event with Mark was efortless and helpful. The event flowed through well as planned until the end when I encountered a problem with the speakers provided, which was not anticipated since everything worked fine prior to the event. Fortunately, I did have another sound system brought in that allowed me to continue the night as planned.
This space was great!!! Mark was very helpful and just a nice guy. I will definitely use them again. Perfect space for headshots or any photography needs that you might have. Also great price for what you get.
