This newly built-out space is private and can accommodate a variety of rental uses. Total capacity of this space is 130 people. We have about 30 chairs and 6 event tables. You're welcome to rent and/or bring your own folding chairs for a larger event. We permit alcoholic beverages for various events/parties. Our space is private with frosted glass coverings on all the windows. It is relatively quiet although it is on a busy street, so you will hear some traffic outside. When the commercial heating and air conditioners are on they present enough white noise to drown out any outside traffic. This space offers white boards with markers, a high quality 50" screen LED TV, a newly installed audio system with (6) downward hanging pendant speakers from the ceiling. The layout of the space is fairly straightforward: an open box with a floor to ceiling cement column in the middle. Monkey bars separate one half from the other. Our ceilings are about 15" high. We offer a variety of movement and self defense classes with qualified instructors at varying levels depending on the size of the class and the specific request. To learn more about the type of activities that happen in this space on a regular weekly basis, feel free to reach out via Peerspace messaging. The normal process for us is to send us a request, talk about details of your event by phone, then do a walk through in person of the space. This process usually takes less than 2 days to finalize. After that's done you book the space online through Peerspace. Thank you for considering our space for your rental needs. Our studio is a dynamic, welcoming place to get fit, stay fit, and have fun while exploring new forms of movement. We are a community of dedicated, collaborative people working together to achieve our goals. We are posting our facility on this online rental platform for diverse community uses. The space is surrounded by 8 foot windows that provide generous but not overwhelming natural light. Activities are private as we have a frosted glass covering to prevent people on the street from peering inside. We also have dimmable LED hanging lighting strip lights for further illumination if required. The space electrical power in this space is newly constructed and approved by the City of Berkeley as of May 2017. We achieve all LEED certification requirements. This is a commercial grade power supply, good for most rental activities. Because this is a first floor street facing space with a back private garage entrance access for load in/out is superb. All entrances and bathrooms are ADA accessible. The back door to the private retail garage has an ADA ramp as well. There is plenty of on-street parking available directly in front of our doors that are not metered. There are probably 50 free spaces within a 1/2 block of our front door. There are also 15 spaces for cars and 1 handicapped blue parking space inside the retail parking garage which leads directly to the back door of our studio. For your audio needs, here is the technical details: We use a Mackie Pro DX8 8 channel mixer, which is bluetooth enabled. We permit outside professional caterers inside this space. Food & Alcohol is fine to serve here. If you're planning on selling alcohol for your event you'll need to get a 1 day ABC permit. We are youth-friendly, family-friendly, and welcoming to people of all ages, genders, cultures, and fitness levels. We often host live music performances but sound must stay at acceptable levels throughout all rental activities as there are families living above this space in condo units. Your booking length MUST include time for set-up and breakdown. The booking clock starts ticking when you arrive to set up, not when the event is open to your group/public. If for any reason our staff determines that your group's clean up was insufficient, we will hire professional cleaners to finish the job, properly paid for by the client: $75 per hour.
Guests may cancel their Booking until 7 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund (including all Fees) of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between 7 days and 24 hours before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price. Booking cancellations submitted less than 24 hours before the Event start time are not refundable. Learn more

My experience with this space was pleasant. Peter was an attentive and kind host. Just keep in mind exactly how you want the space, which is something Peter encourages with a walk-through. I didn't opt for that so came into the space with no prior viewing. We had to scramble a bit to pile the heavy mats because no one could step on them with their shoes but it didn't take too long with enough people. There also weren't as many tables (maybe around 3?) or chairs as I expected there to be for the amount of people advertised. But again, this was somethnig I didn't request and perhaps the situation will be different if you lay out exactly how you want to the host. All in all, it was a great experience and Peter was very accommodating! I would book again.

Perfect Space to have our Daughters 18th birthday party. Great sound system and plenty of room for dancing. Plenty of tables and space to setup for snacks. Peter was very helpful getting us organized and showing us all the particulars to make it an overall wonderful experience.
