About the Space

We are a multi-use flex space located in West Oakland. Our clean, open studio is approximately 2100 sq. ft. and works well for photoshoots, videoshoots, fundraisers, & celebrations. Guests will have access to this studio as well as the bathroom and lounge area located in the adjacent room (additional 1400 sq. ft). Invitingly modern and warm, our studio is incredibly spacious and can be easily tailored to suit any large or small scale event. Our theater room is not included with this listing. Guests may rent out our Theater Room at an additional cost (+$100/hour). Please contact host directly. Theater room is approximately 1300 sq. ft. with projector and speaker system. Amenities: - 45 ft of mirror - 4 rectangular tables, bench seating, and various couches - 2 Bathrooms (Male/Female) - Rolling rack and steamer - Suspended Bose Sound System w/Aux Cord Input - Track Lighting and Suspension System along walls - Power-washed brick wall, Polished cement floors, 12 ft. high ceilings, & skylight - Additional seating in Lounge Area Access: - Management staff will be present to open and close the studio space during your rental. They will arrive 15 minutes prior to your rental and will close 15 minutes after your rental has concluded. Staff will remain on site and will be able to help you should you have questions or need assistance. - First floor studio space with double door side entryway for loading larger photo/video equipment. Transportation: We are located 2 blocks away from the West Oakland BART station. Lots of public street parking located nearby (2 hour limits). We are also conveniently located about 10 minutes away from Downtown Oakland and nearby restaurants.

Parking description

There is plenty of street parking located around the venue. Because of our proximity to the West Oakland BART, it may be difficult to find parking on weekdays between the hours of 9-5PM as most commuters into San Francisco park their cars in this area.

Lighting description

There are several large skylights found in the Main Studio (2 Total) and the Back Lounge (2 Total). These skylights are not easily covered without prior setup of blackout curtains. We are able to cover these with prior request from guests at an additional cost. There are also several curtain-less windows that follow the perimeter of the spaces in all rooms. These can be more easily covered with additional blackout material, however, there are not any current curtains in place that can control this light. Space is not soundproof

Ambient noise description

Ambient noise will consist of BART passing by as well as Street Traffic. We are located very near to a BART station so the BART passes by frequently. We are also located very near to a freeway exit, so there is often some trucks and regular street traffic that passes by the studio. Noise from appliances is minimal within the space and can be controlled based on the guests needs. Exhaust fans, Fridges, and AC can be turned on/off depending upon needs. Most of the sound can be mitigated by keeping all windows closed, although full control of sound cannot be achieved due to the warehouse space.

Equipment loading description

There is no loading zone in front of the venue space, however, we instruct our guests to temporarily double park in front of our main entrance on 7th street in order to load. We have a wooden double door entrance that can be opened completely to allow for ease of loading in and out of the space. No ramp needed for entrance into the space. Loading trucks will need to be parked according to the local parking rules. We have no reserved parking/parking lot so local traffic rules will apply.

Electrical system description

There are several outlets located throughout the entire space. Main studio has 8 total outlets and Back Lounge has 5 Outlets total. They are typically located along the perimeter/corners of the rooms. The Circuit breaker is accessible in the Main Studio, however, we ask that our Guests refer to the Rental Manager who will be on site to troubleshoot any issues with this.

General Rules

We do not allow smoking or pets within the facility. Guests may bring in outside food but must dispose of it in the proper receptacles on site. Guests may move furniture to optimize the intended use of the space, however, it is expected that the guests return all furniture to the original condition it was presented. All Rentals include setup and teardown times. Please plan accordingly.

Furniture and decorations may be moved

Furniture and wall decorations can be removed/moved in preparation for your event. We ask that our guests notify us about these requirements prior to your rental so that our team can prep the space for your arrival. Any additional moving of furniture that will be done the day of the shoot will be subject to approval and determined by the On-Site Manager. All decorations and furniture moved the day of the shoot must be returned to their original location at the end of the rental.

Security cameras and recording devices

We have 3 nest security cameras found within the space, one in each of our Rooms. These devices record video/audio. In our main room (Warhol), our camera is located in the corner behind our front desk. In our back studio (Jones), our camera is located in the corner next to the mirrors. And in our last space (Basquiat), our camera is located in the corner near the windows.

Recording devices in bathrooms or dressing rooms are prohibited by the Peerspace Services Agreement.

Enhanced Health and Safety Measures

Before and after every booking we sanitize all floors, surfaces, heavily touched items in the space. We make sure that all spaces are cleaned with at least 60% alcohol cleaners and make sure that hand sanitizers are available at all times. Gloves, masks, wipes, and other protective equipment is available to our guests.

Enhanced cleaning measures:

Bookings are spaced apart to allow for enhanced cleaning
High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected
The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities

All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:

Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.

The exposed brick is beautiful and the space is flexible - three large rooms that can serve multiple purposes. Definitely will be coming back for a future event!
