DISCLAIMER: ;) This was my second time around renting Martine's venue! Enough said, but Martine was just as professional, helpful and awesome, as was the first time around! I'd highly recommend Martine's venue... it has lots of different aspects to capture and she was helpful and polite, even when my teen filmmaker realized he had to double-time!
Rented this property for my son's short film shoot and all went well! Martine was hospitable enough to check-in with us, in advance to clarify if he needed more time, which he did. I was grateful that she gave the impression that she wanted him to succeed and was proactive about helping relieve, some of his stress, by acknowledging that all is good, should he need more time or even an additional day... which he needed and we're booked for an additional day. Martine, being a producer herself, was a neat asset to have for my young teen filmmaker, while my husband stayed back to chaperone and I was out and about running errands for my son and his crew, ie. picking up craft services, last minute props, fake blood etc. lol. All went well and we'll be back in a few days to wrap up this project!
Martine was fantastic, and the house looked just as it does in the photos. Our group really felt comfortable, and we were able to get all the shots we needed. It was a really great experience and I would highly recommend this location.
We had a great experience working with Martine, Sam, and Jeremy. The home worked great for our small shoot and we had plenty of room to shoot around. The high ceilings and gated driveway were a great bonus. Finally the rate was fair too. Thank you!
The space was exactly as it appeared in the pictures and Martine allowed us to come by for a quick scout before booking the space. Martine was very responsive and very helpful on the day.
I was not at all happy with my experience at this location. I'm an artist who shoots music videos every few weeks. My crew has worked on many locations and I've never had an experience like this. 1) there are people actually living in this house, renting out rooms, which the listing mentions NOTHING about. So there were 4-5 people walking through our set (with thousands of dollars of gear/equipment) that were not authorized to be there. 2) the manager was upset that we were using the kitchen to warm up the prop food. If I'm renting a house, I should be able to use the kitchen. That's a very simple and common concept. Not to mention I'm paying a cleaning fee. 3) The manager was on the phone announcing to some random person which artist was there shooting a video. So now privacy is compromised. 4) The listing says "no pets" which I was happy about because some people have pet allergies. But the manager had a dog walking through our set. 5) The listing does not state that we would have to pay an "electricity fee" of $40. Whenever I rent homes/locations, the utilities are always included in the initial fee. 6) I picked up one of the guitars in the living room, treating it as though it was my own (I've been a professional musician/producer for over 10 years), and was told I need to put it down and that it can't be used for the shoot (when it's clearly advertised in the listing). I guess you can't actually play the piano either if that's the case. I purchased a million dollar insurance policy for this shoot. We should have been able to use anything we wanted. If something's not for use, don't advertise it on the listing and don't put it in your house. My experience with this property manager was ridiculous and unwarranted and not something I care to ever do again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Response from host: ”Dear Heather Thank you very much for your comment. Looking back I am not sure what happened and why we could not get along. I felt you were not respectful of my things and my house picking up my guitar without even asking. I am so glad I have so many other great comments from other productions so people wont think badly of my space. - Martine"
