This 3000 square foot historic home was built in 1960 by architect Boyd Georgi (we know, what a name). While appears to be a sleek, modern ranch style home from the street view, step inside and you will find yourself in a mid century treehouse. The sunken living room is the crown jewel of the house, enclosed by glass on three sides. There is an open floor plan to the common areas, with the kitchen and dining room perched just above the living room. Walk outside and find a working gas bbq and picnic table, and a bridge that spans the width of a babbling brook below. There are wrap around balconies on the entire rear of the house, with private meditative spots to sit and listen to the water flow by. Each bedroom has 1 to 2 floor-to-ceiling windows or sliding doors to balcony areas. The master bedroom has the original bright yellow pot belly stove. While not working, it's a nice piece of original detail. The home is minimally furnished, all furniture can be moved if needed. The house is just steps from the Arroyo Secco, Highland Park, and South Pasadena. We are located on a quiet residential street, one mile from the Gold Line Metro stop to South Pasadena. Kitchens and bathrooms were remodeled in the 80s, so while they are not contemporary, they are in working order. - 3 bathrooms - 3 bedrooms (one unfurnished granny flat is available upon request) - 5 burner range - 2 wall ovens - empty fridge - gas bbq - outdoor seating - central AC - 2 car garage with daytime street parking available during the day - gorgeous natural light The house is not suitable for small children, as there are wrap-around decks with little child-proofing. Please provide proof of insurance to book this space. We require a permit for all shoots, please note -- permits take 3 days to process.
No smoking, no loud music at night. This space is not suitable for small children, given the extensive decking with un-childproofed railings.
