Step back in time and create an unforgettable experience in this unique beachfront lodge on Orcas Island. This distinctive building hosts an 800 sq. ft. great room and a fully equipped kitchen. The Lodge was built in 1932 and remains substantially unchanged today, maintaining its period charm with its generous fireplace, vaulted beamed ceiling, deep bay windows, and gracious front porch overlooking our beautiful sand and gravel beach just steps away. These features, along with a dozen beachfront rental cottages, make it an uncommon venue for all kinds of creative endeavors. Natural light infuses the great room and and accentuates the rich mahogany hues of the wood beams. Large and small driftwood logs lie scattered on the beach. Wild ducks and seals, and even a resident river otter populate the near water. In addition to the tables, chairs, and couches in the main room, your rental includes wifi, digital projector and screen. Access to the building is up a set of 8 wide stairs and through double doors. A vehicle can back right up to the stairs. The Lodge is set in 100 acres of quiet natural surroundings, including pasture (with cows), well-grown forest, and private level beach. Note: this rental agreement covers use of the Lodge building and the beach area directly in front of it. Use of other parts of the property requires separate agreement. Getting here is part of the adventure! Drive your vehicle and take the ferry, fly in a small plane or motor over in a boat. Orcas Island is an hour by ferry from Anacortes, which is about an hour-and-a-half drive from Seattle. Please note: Summer availability is extremely limited due to regular annual summer guests, and the Lodge is typically open only for a few hours on Saturdays mid-June through Labor Day.
No pets. No smoking in the Lodge or on the porch. No loud music or noise that can be heard outside the Lodge, or could disturb other guests staying in the cottages on the property. Depending on the group size and time of year, rental of 2 adjacent cottages may be required with Lodge rental. Alcohol may be served with a meal; no events with bar-type service of alcoholic drinks. Summer availability is extremely limited.
