The "Hacienda in the sky" is a ranch style residential space with 3000 sq/ft decks circling the home with panoramic mountain and city views from almost every room in the house. A wonderful ranch type setting close to los angeles. One could believe that they are on a western ranch in the hills or in a house in ensenada, mexico, among very many other possible settings. The front of the hacienda could be made to look like a quaint boutique hotel in santa barbara or other california vacation spots. Windows span across the entire home, creating 360 degree views. Some unique features include numerous archways across the front and back of the house, high wood beamed ceilings in the living area spanning 12 - 15ft, a saltillo tiled fire place, latin inspired arts and signage throughout, a large sun room with buffet style table settings including a refrigerator and coffee machine, and large decks with views surrounding the entire home. The open outdoor areas, vast views, and cozy living room area make it great for any kind of production, also including classes and workshops, meetings, photo shoots, dinner receptions and more. Other areas specific for production activities: The large sun room off the living room area features buffet style table settings and a main dining table which can fit up to 20 people. We have up to 40 chairs available if more are needed. The room has 3 walls of windows opening up to the views and a sliding glass door opening onto the view terrace. This is great for craft service and/or off-site meetings which require table seating for many people. It also creates an extra eating area for cast and crew if production is taking place in the main kitchen area of the home. Dining areas: In addition there are several table/meeting areas throughout the property inside and outside, all with 180 degree mountain and city views. In addition to the sun room which has a dining table that can fit up to 20 people, we also have extra table and chairs for the view terraces surrounding the home. The kitchen features a high breakfast bar sitting up to 5 people. A full size bbq oven is available on the patio. Location & parking Located in newbury park (1 block from thousand oaks), california, right off the 101 fwy, it is close to los angeles and also close to oxnard. Only 45 minutes from downtown los angeles and on the same side of the mountains as the valley. An empty lot sits next door which can be used as additional parking or filming upon request. There are usually about 20 + parking spaces available on the empty lot next door and 5 spaces available in our driveway. Insurance requirements • renter must have certificate of insurance for additional insured and loss payee under renter’s comprehensive general liability policies, unless other arrangements have been made. Renter must name us as an additional insured on their policy. If you do not have insurance, it can be easily obtained for a small fee through peerspace for the day of booking. Contact [email protected] to inquire. • comprehensive general liability must be in an amount not less than: $1,000,000/1,000,000 bodily injury liability and $1,000,000 property damage liability Responsibility • renter assumes full responsibility for loss and/or damage to any property or equipment — whether belonging to the host, crew members, talent or others — from whatever cause during this agreement. The host is not responsible for articles left behind by renter. • renter shall cover loss of income equal to the base rental rate of lost/damaged property or equipment multiplied by the number of days required to repair or replace lost/damaged item. • the host will not be held liable for missing packages. All packages and/or deliveries sent to your production through a 3rd party (fed-ex, ups, etc.) will be checked in and held in our space. All packages must be retrieved and signed out by client. All packages left behind by client for 3rd party Pickup, must be signed in by the location manager. • the renter shall be responsible for the restoration to original condition in the event of permanent alteration, paint, construction for an event. • no smoking is allowed on the premises. • in deference to neighbors, doors will be closed and volume moderated at 12am. Condition • renter agrees to accept the facility in its “as-is” condition. Rental times • all rentals adhere to the specified dates and times, and are not to exceed 12 hours in a single day except by prior arrangement. • the location opens at 6am on any first day of your production rental. Your production may not run past 1am on your last day of rental except by prior arrangement. You are responsible for costs incurred if the host is not able to prep the location in time for the following day’s production start time due to your overstay.
Janet and Carlos were extremely accommodating to all of our needs. They were gracious enough to lend us a couple of props since we missing some to fill out the frame. I recommend Hacienda 100 percent!
Such a quaint space with a stunning view, however, that is nothing next to the hospitality given! They were absolutely amazing people who took time to show us around their land and offered us a wide variety of beverages. Such sweethearts! Hope to work with them again soon!
