This beautiful stand alone house in Victorian Flatbush is an exceptional place to hold a cocktail or wedding reception, awards dinner, product launch party, or social gathering of any kind. Amid tree lined streets and clapboard houses, you may find yourself wondering if you are still in New York City (yes you are!) This historic building was originally a doctor's residence. Throughout the 1920's during prohibition, the Capital Club called it home and hosted many meetings and "smokers". Throughout the 30's, it was known as "The Justine", a venue for engagement parties and weddings. The 1940's came, and the address became associated with the Jewish War Veterans, later becoming a synagogue which was active until the year 2000. Restored and re-awakened, you will be surprised to find a real ballroom in the rear of this victorian house. At 1225 square feet (35' X 35'), this room accommodates 80 people and a band or DJ for dinner and dancing, up to 140 without formal seating. Two parlor rooms, one with Art Nouveau detailing, the other offering an elegant entrance into the ballroom can serve as a welcome center and charming gathering space to prepare your guests for the larger event to follow, or as a quiet retreat from the festivities in the ballroom. A coatcheck room is available and is especially welcome during the cold or wet weather, and the front porch offers a breath of fresh air, a moment's break, or a smoker's retreat Included in your rental are tables, chairs, tablecloths, a number of comfortable period couches, loveseats, and armchairs and a prep kitchen and sound system. Upstairs rooms are available at additional cost. One staff maintenance member is included. Please note that this listing is for Saturday and Sunday events. The space is available all other days of the week at a different price structure. Easily accessible by the Q train and nearby street parking is available.

The Elegant Victorian Ballroom was phenominal! We could not think of a better place to have my Grandmother's 80th Birthday. The owners of this establishment made our event a success. They went above and beyond what was required of them. I have already begain to refer others to this space. I just want to say Thank you over and over again. Looking forward to our next large event... We're having it here! 😁
I had a wonderful experience booking this space with Elizabeth. I hosted a memorial there for a family member. I visited once in advance and she and her husband were incredibly accommodating, moving furniture to our needs and suggesting little touches to improve upon the arrangements. The space is beautiful, full of light and has a wonderful history. I would highly recommend this space and would love to book it again on a happier occasion. Guests had no trouble parking or walking the short walk from the train.
