Casa Hermosa is the perfect location for an offsite or film session. Nestled amongst the hills, it offers breathtaking views of the city and mountains, a generous flat grassy area and adjoining hardscape for events, and yet is just 3 minutes from highway 280 and 10 minutes from the center of Mountain View. The Main Space. The interior space is ideal for bringing groups together while still offering areas for breakouts. The main Great Room is approximately 1200 square fee, and encompasses a kitchen, dining area, seating/living area, and a powder room. It is washed with light from floor to ceiling windows facing the patio, grassy area, and mountains beyond as well as ceiling dormers and windows throughout the kitchen (to note - all pictures taken with lights turned off). The space has a cathedral ceiling, with 12" reclaimed old growth fir beams buttressing an 18 foot tall apex. Between the light, ceiling, and indoor/outdoor views, and the earthy furnishings, the space creates makes even indoor days feel expansive. Perfect for brainstorming, as is the included blackboard. Breakouts & Additional Indoor/Outdoor Areas. The main space is large enough to easily accommodate 3 breakouts. Additionally, there is an adjoining small office (approximately 80 square feet), and a small cottage (approximately 100 square feet), each with a 6' x 4' whiteboard. There is also an additional 1400 square feet of directly attached patio hardscape that bends around the Study, Dining and Kitchen areas which can easily accommodate an additional 5 breakout areas. Included Resources/Features. There is a mesh network (Google Home) that completely covers the space for WiFi, including the outdoor patio areas, the grassy area, and the cottage. The space comes with 3 whiteboards/blackboards, noted above. Additionally, there are two TVs - one indoors and one for the outdoor space - that each have Chromecast and HDMI hookups for computer presentations. The study includes a network-attached laser printer / scanner. Additionally, there is central stereo (Sonos) with 19 speakers (including 2 subwoofer) covering both the indoor and outdoor spaces, Chromecast audio hookups and aux-line-in capabilities. Additional Resources by Request. Additional Whiteboards, Flipcharts, and business materials by request. There is also a noise-canceling, omni-directional conference microphone that can be attached to VoIP / Video Calls as well as a wide-angle multi-lens video camera upon request. Additionally, a projection screen and video projector can be provided, as needed. Entertaining / Dining options. The space comes complete with settings for 12. For libations, there is stemware for wine as well as appropriate (and different) glassware for Champagne, Scotch, Cognac and Martini's. There is also glassware for water. As well as filtered water and an icemaker in the refrigerator. There will be space in the refrigerator/freezer on reserved shelves upon request. For cooking, there is a full 7-burner + Griddle stove, a microwave, a double-oven and toaster inside, and an outdoor kitchen with gas grill and sink outside. Additional Dining Options by Request. Host will provide daily coffee service and morning/all-day snacks for an additional fee. For an additional fee, host can also provide basic grill-ables for those looking to grill/prepare their own lunch or dinner (e.g., steaks, marinated chicken, hamburgers, etc.). Recreation. There is a ping pong table with paddles/balls located on the patio. The location abuts the Rancho San Antonio nature preserve, with 29 miles of hiking trails and beyond that the much larger connected Open Space Preserve. There is a major trail-head about 5 minute's walk from the location. Central Lighting. The space was engineered with a unique, owner-installed lighting system. Most importantly, when it is dark outside, the main area can sustain 40 foot-candles of illumination (which exceeds OSHA specifications for an office environment - see: https://www.osha.gov/pls/oshaweb/owadisp.show_document?p_table=STANDARDS&p_id=10630). This is far above typical home lighting design of between 10 to 20 foot-candles, and critical for sustained productivity or video/photography. Additionally, the lighting is layered, with roughly half of that light coming as ambient light from cove lighting that washes the ceiling, replicating the feeling of the outdoors and reducing eye strain. Lastly, the entire system is controlled digitally, with central lighting scenes accessible by either smartphone or digitally-connected wall switches. These same switches can also control the color temperature, varying from "sunny day" at 4500 Kelvin (blended) to "warm sunset dining" at closer to 2000 Kelvin, with dimmers to control intensity. When the sun is up, the room is so bright with sunlight that you can turn these lights off and barely notice the difference (see pictures - all taken without lights except for the Study).
This is a beautiful and beautifully-maintained space. Please help keep it that way, by adhering to the following: 1> No pets. It is pet-free, so no allergies to worry about. 2> No smoking. Ditto. 3> No loud parties outside. The central stereo can get very loud; please respect the neighbors. Cleaning services are included, but if you do by chance have a spill that looks like it will stain, please clean it with soap and water immediately. The furnishings are expensive, and not intended to be disposable.

From Irene: The space was great! Good flow, lots of usable outdoor space. Really great! From Annette: Loved preparing this meeting with you and looking forward to the next one on 9/25!
This was a really lovely space to hold a staff retreat. Matthew was great. Responsive, accommodating, provided super clear instructions for everything. The place is spacious, clean and has everything you need. Highly recommend this space!
Great space! We held an all-staff retreat for 10 here and there was plenty of space to move around throughout the day, eat lunch, and sit outside. Matthew was very helpful and professional throughout the process. Highly recommend booking this space!
I was very very pleased with my experiences dealing with the host and with the property. I needed a place to accommodate 10 people for a training workshop and presentation. It was perfect for that, with a projector and screen set up at one end of a table that seats 10. Matt was quick to respond to all my inquiries. All the information I needed was made available to me. He had the hardware that I required for my presentations all set up with instructions. He even made more rooms available to accommodate the training I was doing. The property is much nicer than even the photos show. The Great Room opens up in the back to a wonderful patio that allowed all of us to sit outside at lunchtime and enjoy the view and nice weather. We saw at least three deer while we were there. :) There was also plenty of parking for about 4 cars and more parking along the outside of the property. I cannot recommend this property highly enough.
This place is just breathtaking! We did a retreat-reflection workshop with a group of senior executives there and could not have chosen any better place. Matthew organized everything for us in advance, everything was perfectly set up and he was present during our arrival to help with technology etc., the place was amazing - we could do our sessions inside and outside and the whole group enjoyed it and gave us very positive feedback on the location. We will definitely book it again!
Our staff of 9 agreed we would schedule another team meeting at this location. Matthew was fantastic to work with. He was responsive, accommodating and easy to work with. The space was beautiful. Lots of natural light, beautiful view and very comfortable. We can’t wait to return.
