Built in 1910, our space is located in one of the oldest buildings in Hollywood. At 7,000 sq ft with 16 rooms of various sizes, this building was the very first hotel in Hollywood named the Covered Wagon Hotel. After that, it is rumored to have been everything from a brothel to a bank to a house of fashion and film to incubator for start- ups such as Gobbler, Beauty Con, and Fake Crow. We've taken over the space to create a sanctuary focused on Health and Wellness in the heart of the city. Needless to say, the place has GREAT vibes. Perfectly aligned with the East and West with an outdoor atrium running through the center, the place feels like an Urban Ashram. Ethereal natural light floods through the white french windows that wrap around and in the space, so there is hardly the need for overhead light during the day. The exposed red brick walls, old wooden floors, and many plants decorating the space transports you to an era not of this time and a place that feels like brooklyn or old Europe. The vibe is Rustic Chic. Many say they don't feel like they are in Hollywood when inside! The entire space is the 2nd floor of a two story building. The only way in is by stairs from the street. Unfortunately, no handicap access or freight lift. Our layout is a giant square with a long open air rectangle running through the middle. There are 16 rooms - some outward facing to the streets and alley and some inward facing to the atrium. The room offered in this listing is called Chamomile and is an inward facing room that opens up to the outdoor atrium where guests can mingle and catch some fresh air. This space ended up working well and I was happy with the results of the images. However, when we first arrived this space was disheveled, dirty and very unkempt. It looked different then the photos with some things broken and some trash in certain areas. I had booked it for a photo shoot and it took some staging, a lot of cleaning and straightening to make it presentable. It appeared the owner hasn't been there in a while. The person who let us in was nice and easy going and the space itself was great to shoot in, we ended up making it work. I would recommend this space to anyone looking for a creative location to make images in but highly suggest scouting beforehand.
This space was well-stocked and easy to use! I held a small meeting here and it was a nice, creative environment. Quick access to a lot of things like coffee shops, groceries, food, etc.
The space is nice, but please be very aware that this is a hostel-type space with people checking in and out throughout the day. I think it needs to be made more clear that this space is shared and that it is not conducive for filming or audio recording. We made it very clear we were there to record a sit-down interview with a musician, but the noise and interruptions made it difficult. Also, the crew could not get access to the space for the first 35 mins because we were given the wrong access code. All in all, it's a cool space but not worth the hassle.
The host's communication was excellent. He connected me with the location manager Zack, and he was helpful with questions. The atrium was great. It has the vibe of old Spain. I hope to use this space again in the future.
We used this space to film an acoustic cover series, and I couldn't have picked a better place. The space was AMAZING. So many different rooms to choose from - also an outside terrace area that looks like it's located in Barcelona. The host's communication was excellent. Very thorough with details and helpful with questions. Chris and the location manager Zack, were so kind and helpful. I hope to use this space again in the future.
Great space lots of options...there was a brief interruption with an angry customer using the facility, but i don’t think was the fault of the host. Host was very responsive and helpful.
