A 1000sf commercial loft space near the waterfront, in beautiful Greenpoint Brooklyn. Only a few blocks walk from the G train at Greenpoint Ave, the space is located on the ground floor of a former rope factory which now houses a variety of businesses, with a large, open air courtyard area connecting some of the spaces. There is a bathroom, audio visual equipment, a grand piano and seating that can be included in your rental. The space is also part fine art gallery and available for classes, film screenings, photography, lectures, and other activities.
For events, licensed vendors only as far as food and beverages are concerned, please. Smoking is not allowed inside, but the courtyard is right outside the door. Please take your belongings with you as well as any food or beverage waste. Please leave the space generally as you found it. Use of the piano is only allowed by trained musicians and food and beverages are never allowed on the piano. There is a fee for piano usage, likewise for audio equipment beyond basic PA. Use of chairs and other seating is included. *There is no filming in the outdoor courtyard. It is available for rental through Seret Studios*
The wall space good and the lighting is adjustable. Melinda was very responsive to multiple emails. Most of the furniture can be rearrange to your liking, but nothing can be removed- the piano has to stay against the wall. The bathroom wasn't stocked with toilet paper. There's no manager on site during the actual event. Overall Melinda is a easy host to work with. This event is best for invite only projects.
Positive experience with Melinda, good, fast communication. We were there for a sit-down interview shoot - the wall beams and couch on house right made for good color in addition to the art and greenery we brought. SUCH easy access for a film crew from the street, and it was so easy to get coffee RIGHT outside - and it's so lovely right on the water. It's definitely as advertised in the lead photo minus the yellow wall hanging. Note for producers, you can move furniture around but you cannot move the piano, which was no problem for our purposes, but it's a good thing to keep in mind if you're doing anything other than playing piano in that spot.
Overall outstanding venue and experience. It was exactly what I wanted plus more! The host was very pleasant and easy to work with. I had a genuine fantastic experience.
The host was responsive. There seems to be a slight mix up with a table but hopefully we can work it out. The space appeared exactly as advertised.I hosted a showcase
