Our shared workspace is built over 3600 square feet. We have open seating desks for 40 with an industrial vibe, two collaboration nooks with custom wood and metal tables and chairs, as well as a conference room for 10 people around a repurposed wooden spool table. The space offers many smaller, intimate seating areas, as well as medium size gathering spots for teams, coworkers, and friends. We're located in a larger facility with a really cool story. The For The City Center is a rehab'd abandoned nursing home and you can still see the layout of the rooms in the concrete floors. The neighborhood was on decline for a few decades and this nursing home lay abandoned, ridden with drugs and illegal activity. A local non-profit purchased the building to restore and offer as a facility where other non-profits could work and do service out of. Today, the facility houses refugee services, counseling centers, educational services, adoption, foster care, and many other community service centers. Our workspace offers the ability to work along side them for other, smaller, non-profits or for-profits that want to also see the community restored.
Our rules are simple; respect the others who are working here and try to become a part of our community. We're a community of creative, productive people from all walks of life working together. When you arrive, there are a few desks that are dedicated by our members, please do not touch, sit, or alter their belongings without clear consent. Otherwise, our space welcomes you, please try not to be disruptive with loud sounds or loud phone calls (we have private phone rooms to enjoy for things like this!) The facility is non-smoking and pets are not allowed unless specifically approved.
