Our beautiful craftsman home has 4000 square feet of open space, high white oak ceilings, and charming outdoor decks and patios waiting for you to add your own personal touches, although it needs hardly any decor at all. The house has beautiful hardwood floors and unique decor and is filled with all kinds of animal photography and art. The house is fitted with antique and vintage style furniture and comfy couches. All the rustic charm of a classic Malibu Farmhouse with the added touch of a highly creative surrounding atmosphere. All of the ingredients are here to discover, stimulate and inspire the creative spirit that resides in all of us. We have been told by friends, visiting artists and other creatively minded people that spending time on our property seems to open a space in their personal life that invites inspiration. The 3 acre property is filled with charm and if you are lucky you can feed the wild peacocks who inhabit the area This craftsman home is centrally located in the quaint and charming Cornell area in the Santa Monica mountains. It is ten minutes from the 101 freeway and Kanan Road, and 15 minutes from Malibu. The area is a mixed small affluent small town surrounded by significant hiking trails, the famous Paramount Motion Picture Ranch, and Cornell wine tasting room and the famous Old Place Restaurant. The chefs kitchen and living area have a built in bar and are a wonderful open space for entertaining. There is a grand entry way, huge living room with hardwood floors and antique rugs. A wood burning fireplace accents the room. I am a chef/restaurateur, cookbook author, and caterer. If you wish to have us cater your event please ask us for menus and pricing. I own Lula Cocina Mexicana and Finn Mc Cools Irish Gastro-Pub, both located in Santa Monica. We can arrange delivery, staffing, set up and break down and cleaning. We own the following furniture which is available free to our guests. You must be willing/able to bring it in from our storage space in the back (about 40 feet away) 6 8 ft tables 6 6 ft tables 60 white wood chairs with leather seats 3 tall cocktail tables You will be greeted personally by one of our team, or provided with a gate code if the rental is to begin early in the morning, or if no one is available at that time. Generally we are more than happy to meet our guests to give you the tour for your first visit. Two dedicated parking spaces are available and included with the rental. There is lots of free parking on Waring drive a 4 minute walk. Or you can rent out our lower meadow for directed parking at a reasonable fee of $15 per car. For production and film events we require you to hire our site manager at an additional fee to be determined by the job. For evening/nighttime events where alcohol is to be served, guests must purchase additional third party insurance through event helper. Larger events require a security deposit which is determined by the size and type of event. Overtime will be charged if the clean up exceeds the hours booked. You may be required to hire a property manager/security depending on the size and type of event.
If the use of our property involves a production crew and/or a gathering for a party, an additional single day event insurance policy needs to be issued naming the owners as additional insured. The following are expressly prohibited at the Premises: • Any pyrotechnics, explosives, gas or smoke devices or live fires • Any wetting or flooding of interior floors • Drilling into or otherwise penetrating any parting of the building structure • Use of cigarettes, tobacco or drugs • Entry into any area marked restricted • Use of the Owners name(s) or address(es) The hourly fee covers the first 15 people. There is a modest additional per person fee of $30-dollars to cover the costs associated with the wear-and-tear which naturally occurs with foot traffic and refuse waste. Productions in excess of 30 people may be required to rent portable toilets. We are on a septic system. Absolutely nothing but toilet paper can be added, especially no feminine products. This also means that you should limit the amount of food waste you put into the garbage disposal. We may request a security deposit check depending on the type/size of event- to be returned in full on the condition that the property is not damaged. We may require a site manager to be determined by the size of crew and the job. We may require event insurance depending on type/size of event. This can be obtained via ttpp://eventhelper.com.
