About the Space

• Intimate theatre with 36 red plush seats on risers • Approximately 1100 sq foot space • Lobby and bar area that is great for ticketing • Dressing room and bathroom in back • Full length red curtains that open and close • 3 hidden doors on the stage walls as well as a regular door and a set of French double doors, all have paths around the stage for entrances and exits • State of the art sound booth for full stage lighting and sound • Projector and full size screen • Couch, chairs, tables and props available for use • Air conditioning Located just off Melrose between Normandie and Vermont, near Los Angeles City College.

Parking description

We have 8 spots marked with signs in the lot across the street. You will see white hanging signs that say "Skiptown AND The Cats Crawl" Those are all for us and they are first come first serve. For large performances or screenings I would recommend you suggest carpooling or UBER / LYFT as a reliable means of transportation. If you choose to drive there are plenty of meters and street parking available. The meters are free after 8pm, and there are more located north of our theater by LACC. The street parking is 2 hours during the day and the street sweepers come on Wednesdays and Fridays. THANK YOU!!

General Rules

Your reservation must include all the time you need to set up, shoot, clean up, and vacate the studio. You cannot enter the studio early, and you’re expected to vacate your studio no later than the time your reservation ends. STOP AND READ FOR PARKING: We are located Right off of the 110 in EAST HOLLYWOOD. We recommend UBER AND LYFT as a super reliable way to reach us. Also the lot across the street is a PRIVATE LOT. We do not encourage you to park there under any circumstances. If you choose to drive there are plenty of meters and street parking available. The meters are free after 8pm, and there are more located north of our theater by LACC. The street parking is 2 hours during the day and the street sweepers come on Wednesdays and Fridays. THANK YOU!! Please don't make any permanent alterations to any furnishings, figures, equipment, etc. All temporary alterations must be cleared with a staff member. Please be mindful of set pieces impeding on the daily schedule. There are comedy nights and improve shows, and classes also going on during the week. Please make sure your set pieces do not take up more than a quarter or 25% of the stage allowing classes to operate effectively. We want you to capture your vision, but be creative and do it in a way that allows other artists to also use the space to thrive. Set pieces may only be left IF CLEARED BY MANAGEMENT. we have film shoots as well and everyone deserves the same clear space and experience. If set pieces are left without clearance, we reserve the right to move the pieces and this could result in a labor fee. If there is nothing going on the next day and you are in the space again we will most likely clear you for leaving set pieces and props overnight. There is storage space above the backstage dressing area. Please see a staff member for assistance in showing you where to store your show props / wardrobe / etc. We do not take responsibility for carelessness. Please be attentive when storing your stuff. Items left in the overhead storage or any storage beyond 30 days after close will be removed from the space. Make sure you treat and operate all of our lovely equipment with love and care. If anything is left behind, we will store it in our lost and found, and you can schedule a time to pick up your belongings with a staff member. You promise and warranty that all equipment in our space will be operated and supervised by qualified and experienced technical staff. We are lending you equipment in good condition. Please return it the same. CORKAGE FEE: 10 dollars per bottle of wine brought in. 125 flat for anything more than 10 bottles.

Enhanced Health and Safety Measures

Skiptown currently allows normal bookings with masks recommended but at the renters discretion if enforce. For live shows we are checking vaccination cards as required by CDC guidelines. We thank you for your business and your understanding. Hand sanitizer will be available in the lobby and masks are available upon request.

Enhanced cleaning measures:

High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected

All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:

Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.

The following equipment is provided for every guest:
