About the Space

• Intimate theatre with 36 red plush seats on risers NEWLY INSTALLED AC UNIT! (it used to get really hot in here. Now we're nice and cool for your cast and crew. No more sweating through your show or filming!) 1 NEWLY ADDED FOLLOW SPOT (requires special handling) (in add ons) 7 WARM / DIMMING TUNGSTEN LIGHTS 4 COLOR CHANGING / DIMMING LED LIGHTS HD PROJECTOR / SCREEN (requires additional set up) (in add ons) MACKIE 12 CHANNEL SOUND BOARD with extension to stage for onstage XLR hookups XLR / AUX CORDS available on site (PLEASE PROVIDE OWN 1/4"ADAPTERS / DONGLES FOR IPHONES) BEAUTIFUL CLASSIC RED WORKING CURTAINS THAT OPEN AND CLOSE IN FRONT BEAUTIFUL BLUE VELVET CURTAINS IN BACK PORTION OF STAGE • Approximately 1100 sq foot space • Lobby and bar area that is great for ticketing • Dressing room and bathroom in back • Full length red curtains that open and close • 3 hidden doors on the stage walls as well as a regular door and a set of French double doors, all have paths around the stage for entrances and exits • State of the art sound booth for full stage lighting and sound • HD Projector , BLUE RAY / DVD player, and full size screen 110 inch • Couch, chairs, tables and props available for use • Air conditioning Located just off Melrose between Normandie and Vermont, near Los Angeles City College.

Parking description

We have 8 spots marked with signs in the lot across the street. You will see white hanging signs that say "Skiptown AND The Cats Crawl" Those are all for us and they are first come first serve. For large performances or screenings I would recommend you suggest carpooling or UBER / LYFT as a reliable means of transportation. If you choose to drive there are plenty of meters and street parking available. The meters are free after 8pm, and there are more located north of our theater by LACC. The street parking is 2 hours during the day and the street sweepers come on Wednesdays and Fridays. THANK YOU!!

Ambient noise description

we are next to a book store and a convenience store. both sides of theater are quiet. The street outside can sometimes be heard through the windows but has never affected film shoots or any events we've had. No noise complaints.

General Rules

Your reservation must include all the time you need to set up, shoot, clean up, and vacate the studio. You cannot enter the studio early, and you’re expected to vacate your studio no later than the time your reservation ends. NO SMOKING under any circumstances. We will ask you to stop shooting and vacate the space with no refund. It is a fire hazard and hard to clear from the air. It also damages our seats and our property. FOG MACHINES AND HAZERS ARE OK PLEASE BE ON TIME: We are only on site for rentals and bookings. We are not on site all day everyday. You have 30 minutes from the time your rental begins to arrive for your rental. If 30 minutes passes and you are still not at the location or haven't called to say you are running late we reserve the right to leave the premise with no refund. If you call and say you are running late and we need to stay on site to wait for your arrival beyond 30 minutes, the charge is 30 dollars and we will wait for up to an hour passed your booking time. Any time beyond that is considered a no show. PARKING: We are located Right off of the 110 in EAST HOLLYWOOD. We recommend UBER AND LYFT as a super reliable way to reach us. Also the lot across the street is a PRIVATE LOT. We do not encourage you to park there under any circumstances. If you choose to drive there are plenty of meters and street parking available. The meters are free after 8pm, and there are more located north of our theater by LACC. The street parking is 2 hours during the day and the street sweepers come on Wednesdays and Fridays. THANK YOU!! Please refrain from asking about the lot across the street. I have posted all of that here. Know that if you park at the lot across the street you are parking there at your own risk and we will not be responsible. Do not park in the lot across the street. That doesn't belong to our theater unfortunately. LIGHTS: Do not move or change our lights. There is a chance they are set for another production or event. If you need a light moved, please clear that with our staff. You may however add any lights you want to our grid for your filming pleasure. Do not unplug any of our lights. We will walk through the dimmer board with you so you know how to use them for your booking. Make sure you treat and operate all of our lovely equipment with love and care. If anything is left behind, we will store it in our lost and found, and you can schedule a time to pick up your belongings with a staff member. You promise and warranty that all equipment in our space will be operated and supervised by qualified and experienced technical staff. We are lending you equipment in good condition. Please return it the same. NO FOOD IN THEATER AREA. please keep your lunches and meals such as pizza or meals on plates in the Lobby if possible. We don't want to attract bugs and pests. You may however bring water and soda or bags of chips or individually wrapped foods into the theater. The idea is not to have things that are too greasy or oily or could stain the seats and require special cleaning. NO GLITTER, PAINT, OR CONFETTI Or anything of that nature. Using these items can be permitted with consent of the management and will be an additional fee / clean up. NO FIRE OR CANDLES unless supervised by a site rep which will be an additional fee.

DUE TO COVID-19 ALL FILM SHOOTS WILL BE LIMITED TO 10 PEOPLE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION. -also please supply your own masks and hand sanitizer. We will assist you and everything must be put back at end of shoot the way it was found. No wall structures in lobby can be moved and all things that need to be moved must be cleared by and assisted by staff only.

Enhanced Health and Safety Measures

Skiptown currently allows normal bookings with masks recommended but at the renters discretion if enforce. For live shows we are checking vaccination cards as required by CDC guidelines. We thank you for your business and your understanding. Hand sanitizer will be available in the lobby and masks are available upon request.

Enhanced cleaning measures:

High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected

All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:

Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.
