Train Caboose with View near Malibu A Train Caboose with a private deck, a truly unique way to enjoy the Santa Monica Mountains near Malibu. California King bed. Shower, vanity, private bathroom. This Caboose is beautifully renovated to old world "Orient Express" charm. When you step inside you feel like you are stepping into another century. The decor is luxurious and very inviting. We have a King size bed and a bathroom and shower for our traveling guests. There is a lovely wooden deck for outdoor dining or just having a glass of wine on the deck and watching the 18 wild peacocks that inhabit the are. If are looking for a unique experience that combines the rustic charm of a classic train coach with the added touch of a highly creative surrounding atmosphere. All of the ingredients are here to discover, stimulate and inspire the creative spirit that resides in all of us. We have been told by friends, visiting artists and other creatively minded people that spending time on our property seems to open a space in their personal life that invites inspiration. We own the following furniture which is available free to our guests. You must be willing/able to bring it in from our storage space in the back (about 40 feet away) 2 8 ft tables 2 6 ft tables 20 white wood chairs with leather seats You will be greeted personally by one of our team, or provided with a gate code if the rental is to begin early in the morning or if no one is available at that time. Generally we are more than happy to meet our guests to give you the tour for your first visit. Two dedicated parking spaces are available and included with the rental. There is lots of free parking on Waring drive a 4 minute walk.

SMOKING: Out of respect for those that do not smoke and are offended by the left over odor there is a "NO SMOKING INSIDE THE CABOOSE" rule. Out of respect for those that enjoy smoking, you may smoke out on the deck or almost anywhere outside if you choose, we ask that our guests that wish to smoke observe that we are in a delicate semi-wilderness environment and that smokers use all reasonable precautions with extinguishing their smokes in a safe and responsible manner, and that they do not leave any Smokers Trash (Butts & Filters) laying about (We supply a 1940's covered ashtray for outside smoking :) ) PETS: It is best if we do not allow guests to bring pets. We have dogs and rabbits on the property, all of whom are friendly, are used to dealing with the wild peacocks and each other. Bringing other animals especially other dogs into their territory can be disruptive and make for time spent dealing with that instead of relaxing and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. It is perfect for a couple to share an intimate evening together in a peaceful, private place. The setting and surrounding property lends itself to the creation of some unforgettable photography. There is an onsite metal sculpting and iron working studio on our property that is active from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm each weekday Monday through Friday. For the most part, any metal working sounds will be held to a minimum during the morning hours when we have guests. From 2:00 pm on, there is no work done in the studio and all is quiet. We also ask that unless invited into this studio area, during the above mentioned working hours that this studio and the people in it be left undisturbed. There are wild peacocks and a variety of other wild birds that over the years have found that our property is a "safe haven" to the point that one would think that they are almost domesticated pets. Hummingbirds, Parrots, Snowy egrets, Grey Heron's, Woodpeckers, Bluejays, Crows and Ravens, etc. A large variety of hawks and falcons live and hunt in the area and at night, you may hear the sounds of owl's calling to each other from the treetops.

Yes, I would book again.

Overall, The Caboose was a joy to shoot our music video at. We did not do a sight view before our shoot but the photos and description did accurately depict what we expected. The host did ask us to either cancel or reschedule two days before our originally scheduled day due to a scheduling conflict. Besides that, there were some additional fees and workers comp insurance verification (beyond peerspace's general liability coverage). Once onsite, everything went swimmingly. Please be advised that there is limited parking for cast and crew. Thanks again for the stellar location!
