Come check out our Private back patio which is furnished with wooden seats and tables. We are located in the heart of the South First Arts (SoFA) District in San Jose, CA. The patio sits against three building walls along with doors, which can be closed for privacy. Tables can be moved or added to needs. Music from within the building plays in the patio, however, this volume can be changed. The patio is connected to the adjacent building which houses a market filled with numerous tasty eateries and a full bar. You may purchase food and beverages from any of our eateries and bring them out onto the patio. We ask that all parties utilize our eateries and bar for food/drink catering. No outside food/drink is allowed in the market. We can connect with you with any of our eatery operators or the bar so that they can work with you on your catering needs and budget. How do I work with the Bar? The Fountainhead Bar can work with you on a ticket system or on a “per head per hour” system. With drink tickets, the bar will give you X number of tickets for your party and keep track of the number of drink tickets collected to be summed-up in your bar tab and paid-out at the end of the party. Usually the bar limits the drink tickets to well drinks and bar menu drinks ranging in price from $7-$13. There are no spending minimums, however you may not bring in any outside food and beverages. Smoking is not allowed inside, on the Patio, or in our front parklet. Non-service animals are not allowed inside the market but are welcomed on the parklet. Personal speakers or DJs are not allowed. No outside food/drink is allowed in the market. Special occasion cakes may be allowed. I can connect with you any of the eatery operators or the bar so that they can work with you on your catering needs and budget. Event staff does NOT provide additional decor such as floral arrangements, table cloths, silverware, table settings, utensils, cups, napkins, or water dispensers.
We hosted our annual holiday party at this location, and it worked out great. The venue is larger than it first appears, and the outdoor heaters were an added a bonus to having an outdoor event in December. I highly recommend using this venue for events, especially outdoor events. Both venue representatives were attentive, always prompt with their responses, and answered any questions that I had about the space.
Amazing venue. It got a little cold, but we turned the outdoor heater on, and it was great! Plenty of food options, restrooms were on point, and the bar staff was super friendly and accommodating.
Edward has been very helpful and responsive with all my queries. It is the first time I tried having drink tickets for a party, and it went so smooth! The patio is a great cozy private party place, and the eateries around also help. It is a hidden gem in downtown San Jose, and I would definitely organize a party here again.
It was an easy process and great venue to enjoy. Edward was extremely helpful, polite/professional, and he responded in a reasonable amount of time. For the hourly rate, I think this is a great spot to host an event since the atmosphere of the patio is adequate for socializing. It is also helpful that guests have a variety of options to choose what to eat/drink from the SoFa Market. This feature made planning my event a lot easier as I did not have to worry about catering. I hosted a birthday party and it was easy to clean up the venue with the streamers, birthday sign and balloons that my group had brought. If you book at this location, there is a "Reserved" sheet of paper placed on the tables in the patio. The space does get pretty dark if you host an event in the evening as there are few light sources, however, it was not a large issue for my guests.
A hidden gem in San Jose! We had a baby shower and had about 30 adults and 10 kids there. This space was cozy and intimate, especially at night. The host let us come in 30 mins before our booking time to decorate the space. Communication was easy. I'd recommend this place.
This place is a gem! With so many options for catering, you'll sure have a hit at your party. Milk and wood ice cream and Vietnoms are highly recommended. Edward, the point of contact, definitely took care of all our needs.
