Inspired by the 1932 surrealist poem by Paul Éluard and the location’s past as an undercover brothel we reimagined the space into a lavish and seductive cocktail lounge while embracing the address' gritty history. Throughout the 1000 sq. ft. space we've incorporated subtle nods to surrealism and the bar's former identity: from the elongated marble counter which merges into a communal seating area; to the addition of brass headboards behind the bar and metal pillars reminiscent of dancing poles. A smaller room in the back of the bar features a canopy bed and vintage red dimmed shades evoking an atmosphere which speaks to the imagination and blurs lines between fantasy and reality. The surrealist and house of ill repute references continue into the impressive cocktail list featuring drinks such as the Madame Kelly, named after Paris' most luxurious brothel owner, while crossed out words and pictures on the well-balanced drinks and small plates menu reveal an R-rated vocabulary.

This space was EXACTLY what my crew & I were looking for. The staff on location were helpful & respectful of our time on-site. Jeremy was available to address any of my questions or concerns. Loved the underground feel to the backroom!

Beautiful space, perfect for our shoot! Do note that the host will be on site with you throughout, and as it is an active bar, we had to pause a few times for delivery men coming in.
