*** All rentals for the month of September & October are 8hr min *** Conveniently located in Seattle's historic SoDo neighborhood, this studio is ideal for product shoots, portrait shoots and video shoots. The large cyclorama wall - AKA cyc or infinity wall - is ideal for wide shots or multi angles. The studio has two large west facing windows that allow in a lot of natural light, especially in the afternoon. If you'd like the light blocked out, that can be arranged. The cyc wall is entirely white (but for the right price... we can make it any color you desire). This studio also includes a 12 foot paper roll available for your use, on a wall next to the cync wall. This studio is a total production chameleon - giving you total control over the environment, unless there's glitter in which case you've lost all control and probably your dad's respect. This studio is ideal for all types of shoots and includes a dressing room as well as a hair and make up space. The space does not have running water (yet) though running water is available in the restrooms down the hall. There is a small array of lighting equipment available upon request. The building exterior is brick and west facing, making it ideal for golden hour shots to accent the day's work. The studio is just a few hundred feet from the waterfront, so gritty action shots of that dope waxed canvas jacket is an easy transition from the in-studio product shoot of pure Eagle essence beard cream that you did first. Beards first, jackets second. Everyone knows that. Our on site production manager is available for whatever you may need or any questions you have. The production manager can help you to our grip equipment, which is included with studio rentals on a first come, first served basis (three studios are available for rent with one central gear room and our gear list is always growing). Parking is provided for two vehicles (see parking notes in rules below) and the freight elevator makes loading and unloading equipment a breeze. Heating and cooling equipment is available for the one hot day we get per year and the rest of the time, for the bone-chilling Seattle cold that made you the artist you are. Please note that the sound proof-ness of the room cannot be guaranteed, particularly during home game days for the Mariners, Sounders or Seahawks given our location just across from Safeco Field. This studio has a no-glitter policy. The market for glitter cyc walls is very small and we'd like to stay in the white cync wall market. If you have questions about this, just ask and we can clarify what type of weaponized glitter we do not allow. Jokes aside, want to check it out before you book? We are more than happy to offer a tour of any or all of our three studios, just ask! The studios are available by appointment only though, so make sure to schedule a time before coming by.
VIEWINGS: Feel free to come by and check out the space before booking! We are only open by appointment though, so make sure to schedule a time before coming by. CAUTION! We ask our guests to be mindful of the Cyclorama curved corners and use only the flat floor. The white is prone to staining, so no food or drinks in the cyc area without permission. BOOKING. Please book at least 12 hours in advance. YOUR TIME. Your booking starts and ends according to the booked hours. Please, don't be late for your session's start (we won't add missed time to your booking) and wrap up by the session's end to avoid overtime conditions. OVERTIME might be possible, and its duration completely depends on the studio schedule. Please inform us about possible or desirable overtime during the booking process, and we will see if it will fit in the studio schedule. Please, notice, if you start wrapping up after the end of the booking or just forget about timing - these are overtime conditions, and Peerspace will charge your card for additional 30 min at regular price. PENALTY: If we have next booking in 1 hr after yours and you go overtime, Peerspace will charge your card 1.5 regular rate. More about Overtime here: https://support.peerspace.com/hc/en-us/articles/203416869-How-does-overtime-work- NO SMOKING in the building or near the entrances, no open fire. Feel free to bring a fog machine if you need smoke in your shot. PARKING: We are located across the street from Safeco Field. This means we have to contend with sports and event parking. When there is nothing going on there is a huge parking lot and parking is free. During game days, however, we will do everything we can to provide two parking spots, but we can not guarantee parking availability. Please schedule your booking around games. Once a game has started it is usually no problem to park, but the three hours before a game can be an issue. Please contact us if you have any questions. EXTRAORDINARIES: If your project involves more than 10 people (+$5/hour for each extra person), furry/big/wild animals, sand/dirt/paint/glitter or similar materials, please, inform us beforehand so that we can work out a safe implementation. Possible cleaning fees will apply. DAMAGE! We don't charge safety deposit but we expect you to treat our space and equipment with care and be responsible for the damage that may occur. For example, if you broke Cycs plywood material, because you or some heavy equipment were standing or falling on its curves or walls you will pay $200 restoration fee, as a minimum. Regular wear and tear on the equipment is fine, but please let us know if anything breaks. This was my second use of this space so I had some familiarity with it. The space allows for multiple lighting set ups and more than enough room to move about easily. The cyclorama wall was perfect for my dancer model. Host was cordial and easy to work with. Space is on my list for future use.
Space is really nice, and both Keith and Cory are very accommodating, and both responded quickly to texts/calls. My one note is to be careful renting this space if you need good audio. We needed it for one long interview, and there was truck deliveries coming in and out of the loading dock below us, which produced a lot of loud banging noises, and we heard all the workers talking to each other. Outside of that disruption, it's a relatively quiet space, just make sure that there are not any events going on at Safeco Field or Qwest Field if you need good audio, because all those truck deliveries happened because there was a Sounders game and Mariners game that same day.
