We are an intimate urban outdoor oasis perfect for any and all things wedding, parties, corporate events, classes, and workshops. The lush garden space is nestled behind our lovely storefront in Oakland. This outdoor private venue space is idyllic in the warmer months. The venue itself is 1200 ft and comes equipped with a fully functional bar including refrigeration, a private bathroom, firepit, and adequate heat lamps if needed. All events can be custom tailored to your aesthetics, and we allow any catering and bar/alcohol options of your choosing. This space is perfect for anyone that is searching for an intimate, inviting, and fully customizable venue location. Bar Area: includes a beautiful wooden bar with bar stools, a refrigerator and a deep industrial sink. Add-on amenities include: glassware, plates, utensils and knives. Seating Area: includes a long industrial table with benches, a small two top vintage table and chairs, a four top vintage table and chairs, a copper fire pit and a chaise lounge for two. The furniture layout can be moved to suit your event. Maximum occupancy: 50 guests The Backyard also comes equipped with: *Outdoor speakers *Heat lamps *Wifi Cafe lights extend the length of the space for evening mood lighting. Trash/recycling removal is included with rental. Refreshments and decor are not included with rental. You are welcome to bring in anything you would like. We are happy to provide referrals for decor, flowers, food and refreshments venders.

Guests may cancel their Booking until 30 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund (including all Fees) of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between 30 days and 7 days before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price. The space was wonderful! Big enough for 45+ guests, high tables and decorations. Dana was communicative with both me and my event planner, responding in a timely manner with the necessary details. A big plus was the built-in bar (was able to save time and money with the bartending company). The customization aspect of the space was perfect too, was able to really deck it out and make it our own. I would 100% book again! and the customization of the space.

Absolutely gorgeous AND functional space! We used the garden for a bridal shower and it was 100% the vibe we wanted and it had just what we needed to make everything run smoothly. First off, Dana and Madeline were both REALLY responsive, patient, and kind to all my emails and questions about the space prior to arriving. Upon arrival, the store was closed but Madeline was inside and let us in and even helped us shlep a bunch of our stuff into the outdoor garden space. (Above and beyond! Thank you for helping us!) Being able to move all the furniture around was a big plus so that we could really have the flow just right. All the umbrellas they provided were also a huge help so that everyone could be in the shade. The bar was also great, there was a fridge for us to store cake. The sink was so helpful so we could have a close water source. They had 2 huge garbage cans and a big recycling can too. Having speakers there and being able to plug our iphones in was GREAT so that we didn't have to bring our own system. There were also outlets outside so that we could plug other things we brought to the venue. We also really loved the privacy of this space. We were able to close the door between the shop and the backdoor space and just have it all to ourselves. It was also quiet back there - we couldn't hear the cars on the road nor were there any noisy neighbors. It was perfect for having a chill bridal shower. The bathroom for the guests was also just inside right next to the door so that our guests could easily access the restroom or wash their hands with soap. Overall a beautiful space and would def book again! Thank you Madeline and Dana for having us!

We held our rehearsal dinner here and the space was beyond perfect. The photos are a little out of date - cute details like the umbrella and some of the furniture are gone. I'd suggest touring before you count on something to be there. Staff was amazing!

Madeline and Dana were wonderful throughout the entire process from answering my initial questions to accommodating site visits to being flexible with the booking. My company of approximately 30 people used the garden for our first in-person meeting since March of 2020 and the beautiful space made everyone feel comfortable being together. It's easy to see how stunning it would be for an evening dinner or cocktail hour as well. I absolutely would book with them again and recommend you do the same!

Despite our experience at the end, I want to give four stars because of the venue and the hosts responsiveness. This is a lovely venue, but not for all types of events. This is good for a very small party, and if you're not going to rent third party furniture rentals or have a max guest list. I understand there is a booking timeframe, and she is just doing her job, but sometimes things happen and guests should have a grace period and not be charged extra. In this case, we were waiting for the event furniture rental company to come clear their items, therefore we couldn't just leave. They should allocate a grace period time for clean up, and not charge extra for it. After being told I wouldn't be charged extra for the 30 minutes it took to clean, they ended up charging me over 90 dollars. They also complained that the outdoor venue "wreaked" when alcohol is permitted at the venue. If alcohol is an issue, then the venue shouldn't permit alcohol.

Dana’s space is something special! I wasn’t able to book it for the day I had been speaking to the hosts about (move quick!! people book fast!!), but moving my event to the next weekend was well worth it. We had an attendant all night that helped us unload everything we needed prior to the event. All in all, every guest was in awe of the space and had a phenomenal time. Speakers were great and everything was picture perfect upon arrival. Would recommend to anyone looking to host a gathering :-)

What a lovely, perfect space! Madeline and her team are so thoughtful and helpful throughout the process, from communicating during and after booking up and through the event and helpfully offering assistance and advice as we needed it. I especially loved that they had so many reasonably-prices add-ones like dishes and glasses onsite as well as a dishwasher to help us make the event as close to zero-waste as possible!! I would highly recommend this adorable spot!
