Premier historic event space for up to 600 guests standing and 300 seated located in the heart of downtown Oakland. Our 4300 square feet space features charming art deco elegance, a majestic ceiling, built-in stage, large dance floor, and on-site parking rental available for weekend/evening events. Venue rental includes facility staff and setup/breakdown of house furniture listed below. Rentals include: 45 8ft banquet tables 10 6ft banquet tables 10 9ft buffet tables 30 60in banquet rounds 350 banquet chairs 10ft wide projector screen A/V equipment for available for rental: projector, speakers, and mics. COVID Peace Program: As of April 2021, we are currently able to operate at 50% capacity under the Orange Tier restriction levels outlined by the Governor of CA. Our venue is open to small gatherings, under 150 guests, until June 15, 2021. We are currently accepting proposals for events thereafter at full capacity unless federal regulations limit otherwise. Accepted proposals may qualify for contractural extensions accommodated after the initial quote offer and consultation. Guests may cancel their Booking until 90 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund (including all Fees) of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between 90 days and 14 days before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price. We reserved this space for our company holiday party for approximately 120 people. The venue manager, Paul was great to work with. The event itself went off without a hitch and the space was the perfect size for our group. It felt cozy and intimate without feeling cramped. We hired a live band and they sounded amazing inside the space. My only complaint was that the self-service coat check room was small and it was full of storage. It would have been nice to have access to the whole room so that guests coats weren't smooshed onto the the limited hanging space. Other that, it is a beautiful and unique space right in downtown Oakland with easy access to BART. You cant beat the location. I would definitely book this space again!

I really enjoyed working with the California Ballroom. Paul was friendly, efficient, helpful and transparent during the whole process. I felt that the space was a good value for the money, and the renovations were a nice bonus. All the day-of staff were friendly, and helpful, as well. I highly recommend this space for events.
