Located in the vibrant Wrigleyville neighborhood, this theater is an eclectic hidden gem that regularly hosts cabaret, variety, and fringe theater performances. Our 30-foot wide stage can be configured with two video screens either side of the performance space or with one large screen in the center. We offer a full theater sound/lighting system (bring your own or hire a venue tech for an additional fee). The space works well for presentations, performances and theater-based team building exercises as well as events that require a sound system and theatrical AV. The immediate vicinity has many excellent restaurants and bars and is in walking distance of Wrigley Field. ***CONTENT WARNING*** Our venue has a zero tolerance policy for racism, sexism/misogyny/sex-shaming, anti-LGBQT rhetoric/practices, or anti-immigrant content. We reserve the right to cancel a booking if the show content/guest violate these terms. Please be prepared to submit a website, video, or relevant links for us to better understand what you're bringing to our space. CONFIGURATIONS: The theater holds about 90 people when configured with tables and 120 people with just chairs. We are unable to complete remove all chairs from the performance space. Due to insurance stipulations we can only do seated theater-type events. The venue PA system is not well-suited for full-scale bands but is fine for minimal guitar/keyboard setups. DANCE STUDIO: We also have a 20' X 13' mirrored/air-conditioned dance studio space down the hall, available for rent for an additional fee pending availability. PARKING/TRANSPORTATION: There is metered street parking nearby and SpotHero parking lots under the El tracks. Red Line El station (Addison) is a 5-minute walk and the Brown Line El station is an 8-minute walk. ACCESSIBILITY: Please note our venue is on the second floor of the building and unfortunately the venue does NOT have an elevator. RENTAL TIMES: Be advised that your rental request should include the TOTAL amount of time needed for the event, including load-in/set-up time and clean-up/load out time.
-- We have a bar that includes draft/bottled beers, mixed cocktails, spirit-free cocktails, and soft drinks. Bartender is included in the rental price. Alcohol for events may only be purchased from our bar however we can also host tastings and special events for drink we don't stock provided there is enough lead time. -- All events must be seated, although tables may be removed and stored in the theater wings. -- The rental begins when you are admitted to the space and ends when we are able to lock the door after your load out. Please schedule adequate load in and out into your rental request as an additional hour payment will be requested if your load out runs past the agreed rental end time. -- Smoking is not allowed in the venue however outside catered food is allowed. There is an extra fee for cleanup if your event includes food.
Guests may cancel their Booking until 7 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund (including all Fees) of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between 7 days and 24 hours before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price. Booking cancellations submitted less than 24 hours before the Event start time are not refundable. Learn more

So, I'm still on a high from last Sunday's screening of my episodic series Cutting it KLOSE. The venue was very intimate and all of the guests enjoyed the atmosphere. The host/bartender was very accommodating. I would recommend this space for any private screenings, especially for the cast and or special invited VIP guest/media.

The Newport Theater is a jewel of a "black box" space, suitable for small live performances, or medium sized screenings. The projector and screen and sound system all worked well, and the room is easily reconfigured for either cafe-type or theater type seating. Our host, Megan, was a dream to work with, quickly assessing our needs, and providing solutions. Megan helped us get the best picture, audio and even signage, and was also helpful with the scheduling. Herself a performer and producer, she helped us create a warm and effective presentation in a short time frame. A++++!

It was lovely, the hosts Megan did an outstanding job she made sure things ran smoothly and checked in with me every 30min or so to see if I needed anything and I really appreciated it. If you’re looking to do an movie screening please QC the sound there first to see if it works because the theater is right under the blue line and that may interfere with your movie. But other than that great venue great host!

I had an excellent experience at the Newport Theater. Megan, the theater manager, was kind, responsive, and very helpful in preparing for my show. Kate, the bartender, took excellent care of every audience member. Willy, the day-of stage manager, was equally helpful and responsive.
