We just wrapped a full day still shoot with a cast of 7 and a crew of 6 in this spectacular space. Strong indirect light from several large windows help to illuminate the combined kitchen/living space which makes for super saturated and soft scenics. We were able to shoot total ambient light the entire day. The deep color floors have a satin sheen enriching the space. Great shooting positions around the kitchen with spot lighting under the cabinets. Long hallways and sizable bedroom with really stellar afternoon light make for a comprehensive visual report. There is a large room room behind the kitchen not suitable to photograph in, however, makes a superb wardrobe, hair/makeup and gear area so the set is clean of any shoot clutter. Best of all, our host Marissa made the process easy and informative. Her response to my inquiry was immediate, hugely important, I was able to make an appt. and scout the location. Freight elevator is easy access on Lafayette Street with curbside parking for load in and load out. Public parking garage is a 1/2 block away. Great streets for photography surround the location including nearby Bond St. for cobblestone photography. This is a Gem. The host makes her kitchen amenities, tableware, stemware, etc available which again, is super rare and important. Highly recommend !!
The space is beautiful. We used to the living room space for a small wedding ceremony. The host, Marissa was responsive and accommodating. Highly recommend!
We used Marissa's space for a small still photo production and she was extremely helpful, communicative, & accommodating both leading up to and the day of the shoot which is important because you don't always get people who understand the dynamics of a photoshoot on these space-sharing platforms. We were able to get a lot done in one space which is important in this day & age of production. If you are considering this space you should definitely go for it!
It’s rare to find a combination of a great space and great Host. Everything went far beyond my expectations. The home has been beautifully designed with a stylish simplicity, immediately making you feel at home when you walk in. The stylish simplicity is not to be mistaken for emptiness; rather it’s a feeling of freedom driven by the free flowing light, airy high ceilings, openness and earthy tones. Yet, as you start to pay attention you become struck by the details, from beautiful sculptures to living walls to soft furnishings with very clever use of color. ...yes, it’s love at first sight. Marissa the Host is one of those people you meet in life where you instantly feel like you’ve known her for a long time. Extremely responsive, with a very calm and peaceful outward demeanor which made interacting with her joyous and easy. She welcomed me prior to the event date for a walk through of the space and on the event date, greeted my guests with warmth, even taking them on a tour of her home and talked about her many artworks on display, which by the way were stunning. Our event was an intimate dinner and wine gathering of around 25 people. The Chef cooked in the kitchen as the guests enjoyed the space together with the food and wine. You simply cannot go wrong with this space. Everything is as described. I’m looking for an excuse to book again, such was the experience. Thank you Marissa.
Love the space.........it's beautiful. love all the light. Deffinatly my favorite space in NY. The host was every sweet and accommodating. Would love to go back again and agian.
it was a clean space. the owner was present the entire time but she was very helpful with our shoot. beautiful kitchen for anyone needing to cook with an open clean kitchen.
What can I say, it was one of the most beautiful experience for me and my team in Bali. We cant be any more happier and impressed with how amazing the space is and Marissa. Our production in New York would not have been the same if it was somewhere else. Thank you Marissa for an amazing experience. We have also decided as a team to return again next year to work with Marissa. We are beyond excited. I would recommend 100% for anyone to work in the location. There were however some noise disruption on some days, however we managed to work around it.
