About the Space
Located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, The OBAMA Room (Official Bad Art Museum of Art) curated by Seattle icons Marlow Harris and Jo David, is a unique, quirky space that is an ideal place for your next event. The OBAMA is a great space for meetings, parties, and gatherings of just about any kind. The room is an open floor plan, it’s own bar with a nook off to the side which we have used to house DJs, tarot readers and catering tables. There are numerous banquets, tables bistro tables, and seating at the bar. With total seating at 90 the OBAMA is ideal for company meetings/parties, birthdays, writing, drawing and gaming groups etc. Cafe Racer is an operational music venue. Music begins most nights at 9:00pm. This will impact your event in the OBAMA Room.While we can curtain off the space to keep it private, the music from the stage will be heard in the OBAMA. This can be a great benefit for you event. We will work with you and if possible curate the music on the stage to enhance your event experience. Cafe Racer provides a full drink menu for the OBAMA and we are more than happy to work with any client regarding their catering options, desires or special requests. Enhanced Health and Safety Measures
- The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities
- High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected
- Soft, porous materials have been properly cleaned or removed
- A licensed professional cleaner is hired between bookings
- Bookings are spaced apart to allow for enhanced cleaning
- Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
- Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
- Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
- Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
- Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.

We held a event for several literary organizations during a conference and booked this venue without setting foot in the physical space, not being based in Seattle. Jeff was communicative and helpful in getting us set up with a drink-ticket system and telling us about the space and how it would meet our needs. When we arrived, the staff—Jeff and also EJ, Athena, and Vince—had provided us with the first floor as well, to accommodate an unexpectedly high number of RSVPs. They played music for us during our three-hour event, until a performance by DJ Exesive began, which the guests who stayed enjoyed immensely. Fantastic space, fantastic staff.

Beautifully quirky spot to premier a video project and one of the last hurrahs at that spot. Sorry it’s moved but look forward to enjoying the new locale!

Jeff was an amazing host and extremely accommodating. I would recommend this space to anyone! The space has a lot of great conversation starters to keep your guests busy. The wait staff were also incredible; extremely kind a patient and kind. We did a surprise party for my partner and Jeff was really helpful in keeping up the surprise. He was easy to get ahold of and very comunicative throughout the process. Can't say enough good thing,s honestly!
