Leave the outside world behind and settle into a space where time seems to stand still. At the end of a long winding country road check in your past and future at the gate and enjoy to just be. Situated on top of a hill create your private sanctuary in a restored 1790s Federal Manor house surrounded by 14 acres of nature. The historic mansion sleeps 14 featuring 5 bedrooms with 11 single and 2 queen size beds, 2 baths, library, study, gracious center hall and a beautiful country kitchen. The house is filled with an eclectic mix of art and antiques reflecting the origins and artistic backgrounds of the European owners and their love for design and good craftsmanship. The 1200sf pavilion overlooking a private pond, gardens, meadows, woods and a gently flowing creek is an amazing place to retreat, recharge, celebrate and expand your horizons. For your special event we offer services like a yoga class or a massage, a personal chef or caterer suggestions and rent props including tables and chairs for up to 120 guests. Ideally situated in the beautiful Hudson Valley 2h drive from NYC and 20min from the town of Hudson and Albany breathe out the City and breathe in the Country in a secluded setting perfect for family gatherings, yoga and corporate retreats, weddings, film and photo shoots. The rate is for small film crews of 15 and under. Rate negotiated for larger shoots depending on crew size and number of days needed. Please inquire about our yoga retreat and wedding packages.
HOUSE RULES: CHECK-IN AND OUT: Check in is 4pm, check out time noon unless otherwise arranged. There’s a number lock on the front door. We will email you the code prior to your arrival. PETS: Well behaved dogs are permitted. Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up any/all pet refuse. SMOKING: This is a non smoking house: So please smoke outside. PARKING: Please keep the road and the driveway clear to allow access for emergency vehicles and vendors. FIREPLACES: Enjoy all fireplaces (kitchen, living room, blue and yellow bedroom on the second floor). The only one you can’t use is the one in the white bedroom on the ground floor. It’s not working. Before you start a fire, please make sure that the vent is open. A lever inside the chimney may need to be pushed up. Check if you can see the sky when you look up through the flue, which means it’s open. If you have smoke in the house the vent is probably closed. WATER AND SEPTIC: The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at anytime. If it is found that any improper material has been flushed and clogs the septic system, you could be charged for the plumbing services needed. We have a new instantaneous hot water system, which takes about 20 seconds to heat up. Just turn the faucet on and wait a bit. HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING: In winter the house is heated and pre-programmed for your entire stay. No need to change the thermostat. In summer the thick walls together with a clever design of natural air conditioning create a cooling effect in the entire house. Just leave the door of the basement open, so cold air can circulate from the cellar into the attic and provide pleasant temperatures throughout the house. In addition we have air conditioning in the kitchen and few external electric fans for your convenience WASHER & DRYER There’s a washing machine and dryer in the alcove next to the kitchen. Please help yourself to detergent on the shelves above. KITCHEN: We love cooking and you should find in the kitchen most everything you could possibly need to create memorable meals. We just recently renovated the kitchen with all new appliances like a professional Viking gas stove, fridge and dishwasher. Please read the instructions on the inside before use. There are 2 faucets in the kitchen, the smaller one is filtered reverse osmosis drinking water. Kitchen equipment and supplies like a Kitchen Aid machine, blenders, pots and pans, dishes, glasses and cutlery for at least 12 people are all in the cupboards. The trash bin is for everything except glass, metal and plastic. Please dispose of your general garbage bags in the black container next to the barn, all recyclables go into the green one.The dishwasher needs just some dishwasher and rinsing liquid in the appropriate compartment and then hit the start button. LIVING AND BEDROOMS: You’ll find fresh sheets, duvet covers and towels in every room. Some of the windows in the living room are not working, do not try to open them. Most windows in the other rooms work just fine. Please use the window screens in summer. All lights should be working. In the hallway are 2 way light switches, so you can switch on the light downstairs and switch it off upstairs. If it doesn’t seem to work, try a few positions. In the kitchen at the spice cabinet as well as in the blue bedroom are lights, which are switched on by pulling a cord directly at the lamp. PIANO: The Steinway piano is a concert level grand piano and a very valuable piece. Please handle it with great care. If you’re an experienced player, you’re very welcome to play. ATTIC/BASEMENT: These are private places, please refrain to go there. PREMISES/POND: Enjoy the pond for swimming. It’s a fresh water pond with perfect temperatures on hot summer days. In winter you can ice skate at your own risk, just make sure there were freezing temperatures for at least 2 weeks before you step on the ice. There are deckchairs and chaise lounges throughout the property. You’re surrounded by nature, so please check yourself and your children for ticks. BEFORE YOU LEAVE: RECYCLE – We try to live in harmony with our environment, please help us to recycle. Please separate glass, plastic, metal and all other garbage bags in the designated containers next to the barn. Please don’t forget to empty the fridge. CLEANING – We expect you to leave the premises the way you found it. On top of each bed you’ll find clean bed sheets and duvet covers as well as a set of towels. Upon departure please strip the beds and put the sheets and towels in front of the washing machine. Mare sure the doors to the kitchen and terrace are locked. Please exit through the front door, enter the number code and turn the lever anti-clockwise when the green light is blinking. EVENT RULES: • This is an outdoor event. The house is closed for the time of the festivities with access limited only to the 14 overnight guests • Portable bathrooms are mandatory and need to be provided by the guests. • Rain contingency plans are advisable and are the responsibility of the guests. • This license is for a one day event only and can’t exceed more than 120 guests. • A rehearsal dinner or brunch the day after is part of a premium package, but can’t exceed more than 20 guests • A maximum of 10 parking spaces are authorized on the venue site. They are reserved for the wedding party and/or catering. All other event guests must be transported to and from the venue by the local shuttle service Coxsackie Transport. Please remember that the road and the driveway need to stay clear at all times to allow access for emergency vehicles and vendors. • The last shuttle bus should leave no later than 11pm. • Windrift Hall provides a list of suggested, but not affiliated vendors. You have the freedom to choose your own vendors at your discretion, but all vendors need to be licensed and all caterers must be Board of Health Approved (BOHA). No food preparation for the event is allowed inside the house. In addition the guests are responsible to see that all vendors and their staff are aware of Windrift Hall’s policies and act as stipulated in this agreement. • No bonfires or fireworks allowed on the premises. All fire needs to be contained in the fire pit and no open flames are allowed inside the house during the weekend. • The rental of the pavilion, sound system, 2 chandeliers, the bar, chairs and tables for 100 guests is included in the premium package. Additional items are available for rent and can be checked out individually on our site. • This is a residential neighborhood please respect our neighbors. According to Coxsackie’s Town ordinance noise shall not exceed 65 dB at the property line at anytime and no amplified music is permitted after 10pm. The use of our sound system is mandatory. Sound measurements will be taken and repeated violations can lead to termination of your event. • Event insurance is mandatory for the day of the event. • Event set up and break down including cleaning will be arranged by the Guests. All rental items like tables, chairs and other equipment need to be returned to the pavilion. • Any damage to Windrift Hall facilities, grounds or rentals beyond normal wear and tear will be reported to Windrift Hall on the following business day. Windrift Hall will determine whether the damage is beyond normal wear and tear. If so, Guests will be responsible for the repair and/or replacement costs associated with such damage. Please keep in mind the owner is not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises. We are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.
Guests may cancel their Booking until 7 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund (including all Fees) of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between 7 days and 24 hours before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price. Booking cancellations submitted less than 24 hours before the Event start time are not refundable. Learn more
