Our building's history is ripe with the lore, tradition and curiosity that makes its home in the Hollywood area of Los Angeles a place of intrigue and wonder and a place we have always cherished. Originally built in 1926 as a Prop Design Studio for film and television, the Spanish Colonial style building has an heir of both elegance and comfort daftly mimicking its current owner’s temperament and style. Following that storied use of the building and for the next twenty-five years, the building was a violin factory producing thousands of violins and violas for schools throughout the country. In 1967, some fifty years ago, Costume Designer Rita Riggs purchased the building and made it her studio for her work with everyone from Alfred Hitchcock to Norman Lear and many, many more in between. Rita predated the current interest in Shared Community Office space by offering space to a select group of design professionals that understood her passion and talent for high design and an interest in making a true community out of the workplace. Organically, gracefully and with no pretense, Rita was way ahead of her time. Recently, the building was painstakingly restored to its former glory by 30 year inhabitants of this very special place. They, along with the entire building's membership (including Rita herself), welcome you to share, learn, grow and thrive in a community made up of all generations intent on rising in the pursuit of what promises be a very fulfilled and prosperous family.
We are focused on bringing together the most creative, determined and innovative minds of all generations to inspire conversation and collaboration among our members. Once a famed costume house in the 1970s, now home to a supportive community workspace comprised of inquisitive individuals. We are a sanctuary for the most thoughtful and engaged minds in LA, where authentic connections are fostered and the freedom to create is held in the highest regard. Our past is rooted in tradition, with the hopes of informing and inspiring a more progressive future. No smoking is permitted in the building.
This was our 2nd time booking the space and it was wonderful. The booking process is so easy, the space was perfect for our needs as we hosted a video conference meeting from one of the conference rooms. And the staff is so kind and helpful. Amazing resource, highly recommend!
The space was gorgeous. The staff was kind. We didn't realize that the kitchen wasn't included when you rent the office space, but other than that it was perfect.
This space is beautiful and the host was so accommodating and helpful. She allowed us to use any room we needed and was available with any questions we had throughout the day. Remember to bring your own cups, plates, and utensils so you won't be charged a fee at the venue. Anyway, thanks to this host, we so appreciate her!
We had a great experience with Tash and this space! We needed a meeting space to prepare for a pitch and this was the perfect space for it. Sara and Scott were our on-site contacts who were so sweet and helpful to meet any of our requests. Overall, it was a great resource to have and we definitely plan on returning and highly recommend to those in need of a meeting space!
