A Stunning sanctuary that holds up to 360 people and offers incredible natural acoustics with high stone walls supported by wooden beams. The sanctuary gets plenty of natural light filtered through its ornate stained glass windows but has overhead pendant light fixtures for night events. The building also has a small vintage library, a bright and open parlor, and a foyer connecting both rooms to the Sanctuary. This space is perfect for concerts, speaking engagements, theatrical performances and offers a unique venue for photo shoots and film productions. Building History: This English Gothic Sanctuary was designed by H. Langford Warren. The architect of the chapel was a Swedenborgian and was also the Dean of Harvard’s School of Architecture. The church was one of the country’s first to welcome the marriages of couples of different races. In the 1970s the church opened its doors to marriages of couples with different faiths. Then, in the 2000s, it was one of the first churches to welcome couples in same-sex marriages, before this was legalized by the Supreme Court.
-No pets -No smoking -Outside food and drinks are allowed, but please consult prior to bringing alcohol into the Sanctuary space.
This space was perfect for our video taping. There are lots of different looks that you can get here, from clean/minimalist to regal and elegant shots. The team hosted us warmly and it was very easy to access and unload our gear with the great parking setup that was provided. I would definitely return.
Great communication, friendly staff, beautiful space! There was some external noise (random helicopter and a moment of random street construction- nothing that could be predicted and not the fault of the venue). We would use again. Thank you for making our film shoot so easy!!
We filmed interviews here, using the library and the parlor to get a unique setting for each one. The space worked great. Nikiar and others (Maria specifically) were wonderfully wonderfully wonderfully helpful.
