Owned and operated by Austin's beloved writer/raconteur Spike Gillespie, this ranch features 2800 square feet of ranch house, a 1350 square foot event space, and a unique 250 square foot tiny chapel (secular). The former includes a fully stocked kitchen with coffee station, two ovens, and tons of cookware and serving stuff. The latter is great for meetings, yoga, meditation, dance, you name it. The house dining room easily seats 25. The event space easily seats 100. The ranch is a quick twenty-minute drive from downtown Austin, right off of Highway 71, ten minutes east of the airport. Get your pictures taken with the horses, the longhorns, and Levon, the French Donkey with an attitude. Great for one-day events. Our rates are higher for weddings and other big weekend parties. We are on an old septic system. Please do not flush ANYTHING but TP down the toilets. And please be sparing with the TP. We have on demand hot water. That means it takes awhile for the water to heat up but once it does, it stays hot. Please be patient. If you need anything, you can call or text Spike. I will be at my other job so sometimes it can take me a few minutes to message back. It’s okay to smoke outside. Please do not smoke inside. There are cold drinks in the fridge. Help yourself. There’s a bag of coffee next to the percolator. Help yourself. Milk and cream in fridge. Sugar and artificial sweetener in cabinet to right of stove. You’re welcome to jam in the barn but please be mindful of the neighbors and crank it down around 10 pm. I live in the house in a living pod. My dogs live with me. They will bark when you arrive. That’s their job. But they are locked up on my side of the house. When you come in at night and hear them bark, don’t worry. They will settle down very shortly. The internet can be slow. Sorry. It’s the best they offer out here. Each room has a flashlight and a fire extinguisher. Please note all the exits: FRONT DOOR, DOOR OFF OF SUN PORCH IN BUNKBED ROOM, ALL WINDOWS TWO DOOR EXITS IN MY LIVING POD ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE HOUSE.
