THE POODLE ROOM The Poodle Room is a glamorous and opulent room in a midcentury decorated home. Drawing inspiration from places like the Madonna Inn and Jayne Mansfield's Pink Palace, the room is decorated with gilded vintage furniture, flowery bird cages, a 1940's vanity. Walls and the ceiling are painted in two tones of 1950's Cadillac pink with elaborate white moulding. Vintage ceramic figurines, including two grand swans, adorn the vanity, along with hand mirrors and a gold hand brush. A gold wire chair sits in front of the vanity. The carpet is white shag with a thick pink shag carpet in the center of the room. Twin 1960s vintage "Anthony California 37" orchid snake lamps sit atop two vintage dark aqua painted end tables. A poodle-contained rain lamp and two birdcages covered in flowers, hang from the ceiling. A vintage gold 1940's couch, with gold and white fleur-de-lis fabric, sits in front of dramatic red velvet curtains. There is a vintage crystal chandelier hanging from a 16" decorative ceiling medallion. The walls are decorated with ceramic poodles from the 1950's as well as floral candelabras, light fixtures, and gilded mirrors. The bed is made with pink satin sheets and pink ruffle bedding. A gold iron headboard sits against purple glitter wallpaper. Two vintage swag lamps hang above the bed with a birdcage hanging between them. A ceramic poodle peers out from the birdcage. There are plenty of fake flowers that can be used as props as well. THE BREEZEWAY TIKI BAR The Breezeway tiki bar was built in the literal 'breezeway' of my home. Every inch of the place is covered in pre-1970s authentic tiki bar decor. Carvings from Papua New Guinea, Tonga, the Fijian Islands, the Marquesas Islands, and Hawaii (among other Polynesian regions) line the walls. There are also items from now defunct vintage tiki bars like lamps from the Bahooka, jade tiles from Trader Vic's, and though the place isn't defunct, two tiki chairs from Frankie's Tiki Room. There is a large collection of Polynesian pop artifacts from the '50s and '60; lots of vintage tiki mugs and ashtrays. The space features two tiki bars (one Witco and one constructed by myself), two water features, and over 40 atmospheric lamps. Outside of the The Breezeway, is the Breezeway Lagoon, a 14'x12' 2000 gallon pond with a faux volcano fountain. There is also a hot tub with 147 individual hand carved panels around it. Over 80 pinup modes have been photographed in The Breezeway. It is a space that is exceptional for tiki-themed photoshoots, commercial filming, and/ or small gatherings. THE REST OF THE HOUSE The dining room can be used as a hair and makeup studio, and there is a bathroom available to use. The house also contains lots of 1950s/ 60s furniture and decor. The space is located on the ground floor of a private home in a neighborhood that is adjacent to lots of restaurants and a grocery store. Food recommendations can be requested. You can fit 30 people, standing, in the Breezeway... about 8, seated. Maybe more, if you utilize the rest of the backyard. The Poodle Room is a 12'x10' room. It fits a photographer and an assistant and model comfortably. More, if you get creative.
