Historic Dupont Parlor

Next to the library is the parlor. A well-appointed space perfect for any occasion. Carpet accents sprawl on the wood floors. Tables and chairs are available. Tall windows surround the room for natural lighting. You are welcome to use the grand piano for a recital, background music, music video and more. Whether it's for your event, community interaction, ceremony, meeting, media production, book club, or any celebration, the parlor is the perfect venue. We welcome virtual sharing from the space and practice social distancing. Looking forward to having you in our space and seeing what you create! Capacity: 20 People Description and Amenities: · Accessible through the parlor side entrance or through the sanctuary. · Shares a sitting room, and bathroom access, with the library. · Surrounded by large windows for natural lighting. · Wood floors with two large throw carpets. · Large wooden tables, built-in bench, and chairs for seating · Grand Piano Building History: H. Langford Warren designed this Gothic English Sanctuary. The architect of the chapel was a Swedenborgian and Dean of Harvard's School of Architecture. The church was one of the first in the country to welcome marriages between couples from different ethnicities. It was in the 1970s that the church started accepting marriages between couples of different faiths. In the early 2000s, the church was one of the first to allow same-sex marriages before this was legalized by the Supreme Court.
