Its original use is unknown, and the brick structure was leveled in the 1906 earthquake. Rebuilt as a 3-story wood-frame building after the quake, the property became the Hotel Rondel, named after the alleyway to the east. It operated as a place of lodging and brothel until The Great Depression, when it was shuttered. When the economy recovered the property became a simple hotel and stayed that way until it was sold and renamed the Sincere Hotel. In 1976 there was a fire that gutted the top two floors of the hotel, and there are still bits of char at the top of these steps left in place for history. Rather than rebuild the two burned floors the owner removed them and converted the remaining structure to a commercial space, becoming a bar. In May of 2014 the interior was demolished except that every effort was made to preserve any architectural history, such as the wooden back bar, the lit arch, the box-beam ceiling, the windows, the infinity stairs and all the moldings. Opened as Bond on Thanksgiving Eve in 2014, the name is a reference to the relationships that connect people and the opportunity to make new ones. Welcome to Bond! We look forward to getting to know you and adding to the great history of the Hotel Rondel.

Daryl D. booked a video shoot for 10 people
Host accommodated us and helped us complete our shoot. Time was limited unfortunately, would have loved to shoot there for longer.
Courtney J. booked an event for 50 people
I had my 27th birthday party here and it was literally the best thing ever! Totally worth the price. I had around 30ish people and the venue was perfect. So easy and Andrea was extremely helpful with anything we needed or had questions with. I would totally recommend anyone booking this venue for a birthday or group event!!
The bar was an amazing setting for our instructional videos. Andrea and Anjelica were incredibly responsive, helpful, and accommodating hosts. We loved shooting here and would definitely book again!
Becca T. booked a 30th birthday party for 35 people
This space was exactly ask described and perfect for my 30th birthday party. Plenty of space for the amount of guests, and a semi-secluded back area right past the bar. Andrea was super communicative and helpful throughout the whole process and always quick to respond. The photobooth *right by the rental area* was really fun and my guests loved it! The bartenders and staff were really friendly and helpful as well. Definitely would recommend! My only "con" is I wish I had been told about needing compostable items (plates, forks etc) only, longer than a week before the party. An easy ask to accommodate, but I had already bought stuff and and to rush order to find new items to replace them.
Klarese D. booked a birthday party for 30 people
Bond Bar is the absolute bomb. Had my 30th birthday celebration and the staff were incredible with both planning and when hosting the event, the music was fantastic (and took requests), they even let us bring in some food and stay longer than our official reservation. Absolutely returning just to support their business because they're awesome.
