About the Space

Hale Production Studios is a beautiful, naturally lit loft featuring a full wall of 15 foot industrial windows on the East wall, hardwood floors, 25 foot vaulted ceilings, styled sets, and industrial details. We have designed it with mid-century and minimalistic furniture and neutral tones making it the perfect setting for a productive day. We have the following furniture and sets: 1 Brick Wall Living Room 1 Paneled Beige Wall Dining Room 1 Kitchen 1 Beige Corner Wall - good for portraits or styling into office, living room, bedroom, etc. 1 Vertical Wooden Slat Wall 1 107" W Seamless Backdrop Holder More details below on the specifics: There are two mezzanine areas for prep/monitoring/green rooms. The entire space measures 3200 square feet. The large windows have roller blinds that diffuse 30% of the natural light and take away harsh shadows. There is also a freight elevator for moving gear. The East Village, San Diego neighborhood is full of coffee shops and restaurants for catering, take-out, and delivery. There are also many good urban scenes around the loft that are perfect for lifestyle shooting.

Lighting description

Industrial windows are 10' tall and nearly 40' wide. East facing with gorgeous long shadow lines on sunny San Diego mornings. We have roller shades that offer 30-40% diffusion. After 11:30am the lighting goes overhead where we have two skylights that can be opened or blacked out from the roof.

Space is not soundproof

Ambient noise description

We are downtown so there are occasional trucks and ambulances that make their way down our street. We shoot interviews here frequently and just build it into our production schedule that we might need a retake here and there. The ceilings are incredibly tall so we recommend 4x4s and sound blankets to shape the audio.

Equipment loading description

There is a commercial loading zone in front of the building that leads to a set of double doors and a gigantic freight elevator. Non-gear toting participants on shoots can enter through the main door via call box and take the stairs or elevator up to the 3rd floor.

Circuit breaker is right inside door to loft. 20-40 amp breakers and over 15 outlets through the space.

General Rules

Please use common sense. It's an older building shared with other artists so be courteous when in the hallways and in the loft. The building has a strict no pet and no smoking rule. Music is fine at a reasonable decibel. Party scenes approved by request only. No storing of gear in common areas.

Furniture and decorations may be moved

Furniture can be moved throughout the space but must never leave the space. All furniture is to be returned to exact original placement to avoid additional cleaning/moving fees.

No smoke machines allowed

Security cameras and recording devices

We have 3 Nest cameras inside the unit that are there for security purposes. Nothing is recorded unless there is an incident that needs to be reported. They are located in the common areas of the loft space.

Recording devices in bathrooms or dressing rooms are prohibited by the Peerspace Services Agreement.

Health and Safety Measures

High touch areas wiped down between uses. Sanitation stations setup throughout loft. Additional masks and gloves available as well.

Enhanced cleaning measures:

High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected

All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:

Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.
