This art farm is located just outside of Smithville, TX and is just 35 miles east of Austin Bergstrom Airport. The house sits on 20 flat green acres of pasture, surrounded by forest, Longhorn Cattle , and glorious 200+ year old trees. Art meets nature at this unique 3900 square foot modern farmhouse. The house itself is decorated with an eclectic mix of furniture and filled with original artwork from regional artists. The entire 2000 square foot downstairs kitchen, dining, and living area is available to rent. The kitchen is fully stocked and there is table seating for 4 in the kitchenette, 6 in the "sitting" room, and 12+ on the back patio. With a large and cozy living room and are plenty of places to get comfortable. The home boasts 3 wrap around porches and a large back patio, perfect for watching the sunrise/sunset and the hundreds of birds, owls, and butterflies as they fly over the lush green pastures. In the "Art Barn", large original art panels line the walls of this breezy space. Here you will find additional seating, an outdoor movie screen (projector upon request), the "Coop" Art Studio (art and crafting supplies available upon request), and 6 real ducks. Beyond the home and the barn, you will find nature and more nature. The most remarkable part of the property are its trees. Pecan, Magnolia, Elm, and Oak to name a few. There are clean cut paths that wind through the fields taking you from tree to tree where you can sit and/or have a picnic on one of them many shaded picnic tables. Make sure to spend some time with MAGIC TREE, the large Live Oak near the center of the property, also a perfect place for yoga (large rug and yoga mats provided upon request). The sunrise and sunsets are magical. The stars are BIG and BRIGHT. Local attractions include nearby towns, Smithville (3 miles) and Bastrop (6 miles). Smithville’s town motto is “Small Town, Big Heart,” and you feel it when you walk through the streets, eat in one of the many great restaurants, antique shop, and talk with the locals. Buescher State Park and Bastrop State Park are each within 15 minutes and contain many hike and bike trails. The Colorado River is 5 minutes away, perfect for kayaking. Austin is 35 miles away. The owners take pride in creating a unique and magical experience for every guests. They will provide a questionnaire prior to you stay to help them curate a perfect get away for your group- everywhere from crafting stations (i.e. earring making, painting stations, tie dye, rock painting, & more). This location is ideal for family reunions, corporate retreats, yoga retreats, team off-sites, and artists getaways. While your reservation is limited to 12 guests, the owners do host events at the Farm and would be happy to talk to you about your next event for up to 80 people.
