Located in Echo Park, the space is a 2200 square foot facility with one main room (1700 square feet with 11.5' ceilings), 2 bathrooms, 1 kitchen/lounge area and 2 bedrooms that can be used as make-up/wardrobe or sets themselves. The space is fully furnished or can be adapted to a more raw, empty look. The space existed as a grittier version of itself, an underground DIY venue for 6 years, hosting hundreds of shows from punk and indie to hip hop and everything in between. Many short films and music videos have been shot here, including a recent A$AP Ferg live video & an episode of the Youtube series "Oh You Pretty Things" starring Francesca Eastwood. Before its incarnation as The Mime, the space was called Silver Echo Gallery and similarly hosted many music and art events. The space has been adapted into a clean, comfortable living area / set which still hosts sporadic art and music events in a nicer setting, but with furniture stripped, one can still sense and achieve the former, grittier, raw warehouse/underground venue vibe as well. The space has two projectors and a full PA sound system as well as some other basic lighting, a commercial fridge and simple bar area in the main room, in addition to the main, full kitchen which is connected but off the main room, with bar booth, lounge area, sink, fridge, oven, microwave, counter space (fully stocked kitchen set up) and a 2nd bathroom with shower off the kitchen/lounge area. This whole section of the space can be treated as a green room of sorts as well. The building also has a small, outdoor smoking patio area that is closed off from the main entrance on Glendale Blvd. The building is at the corner of Clifford St. & Glendale Blvd in Echo Park, just 10 minutes from downtown LA, Hollywood, Pasadena, and adjacent to Silver Lake, downtown, Atwater, Glendale, Elysian Heights, East Hollywood. It's right at the beginning of the 2 freeway, minutes from the 101, 5 & 110 freeways.
