Gorgeous and Spacious Urban-Loft Daylight Photo Studio in SODO

The space was lovely and we enjoyed having our event there. Jim, the owner, was beyond amazing, so helpful and really communicative. He also helped with getting us seating we need, creating an pinboard on the spot and buzzing people in. I would definitely come back to this space again.

Jim's space is a blank canvas. Natural light shapes the space in ways that call for photographic mastery and constant attention to change—time of day and weather. The studio is well equipped and appointed with nice details to make your shoot comfortable. Best of all, Jim (the host) is very accommodating in order to give you the best possible opportunity to fulfill your creative vision.

Awesome space and overall experience. It’s larger than the photo appears. Able to shoot full height across the width with a 85 mm. Lovely light in the mid day to early afternoon. Jim was helpful meeting me outside by the loading dock. Nice big dolly and freight elevator to move stuff in and out.

Well equipped studio with outstanding skyline view. Really enjoyed having the audio setup, kitchen, furniture, space, cargo elevator. We filmed some documentary videos here, and as noted, sound is a challenge, and we lost some time with the train crossings, so please do be mindful of expectations and budget in some time for noise interruptions when booking.

Jim was amazing in communication and doing the extra little things to make the experience go smoothly (including lugging a heavy pelican case up 4 flights of stairs because the freight elevator wasn't working.) If anything it's a little difficult to do this space justice in photos. Does this space have disco balls and plants? No. You're probably looking for a different type of studio (and lighting situation) if that's what sells you. But if you value tall ceilings, a large open space, and included light stands/grip it's hard to beat. Definitely leave your light stands at home, the studio includes a large number of c-stands, a couple of combo stands, boom arms, sand bags, clamps, v-flats... I'm sure there are a few other things. One thing you might want to bring is a baby-pin for a grip head if you're using a boom arm. Also, having a large bathroom in the studio made changes a better experience than most other studios.

This was a great space for our photoshoot with lots of possibilities. Jim was a great and helpful host.
