About the Space
Clearly one of the favorite venues in the San Diego area for Photo and Film Shoots, this unique classic Mid-Century Modern Residence is sited on hilltop with panoramic views to the east, including Valley views, to Mt. Helix (Cross) and the mountains beyond, with fabulous expansive outdoor view space. This Private Residence is gated, with an entry wall of cast concrete Mayan blocks,originally designed by Frank LLoyd Wright in 1933, for his L.A. projects. . The guest-usable well-appointed space includes a large high-ceilinged living room, dining room for buffet serving, or 6-8 sit down dining, full kitchen, and guest restroom...wall to wall windows across entire rear of the space for maximum utility of the view.Approximately 3000 S.F. of space includes both interior and outdoor spaces. The spacious hard-surface patio area with concrete-topped built-in barbecue,concrete dining table/chairs, chaise lounge, and patio seating makes this an ideal venue for intimate Business Meetings, PHOTO and/or FILM SHOOTS etc., and will comfortably accommodate up to 25 guests. Located on hilltop just off of downtown La Mesa, and easily accessible from both Route 8 and Route 94, 15 minutes from downtown San Diego, with adequate street parking within one block in any direction.

How do I begin to describe how wonderful it was to film at Steven's beautiful home...? Not only is this place picturesque on the inside, the exteriors and the view over the hill are just lovely. This home was perfect for our film. And, Steven was an absolute gem of a host. He is gracious and so hospitable. He made us feel so welcomed, we wished we were filming there a few more days! Lol! Thank you so much, Steven.

We shot a music video over the course of one day. Even before we had booked, Steve was very proactive in his communication and advice and very quick to respond to messages. The space was even better than advertised and more than met our needs with fantastic views from the patio across San Diego. This was certainly one of our best shoots to date in terms of hosting and Steve provided us with refreshments, coffee and snacks throughout and even served us homemade crepes with ice-cream before we left. I would definitely this venue!!

This space is truly a Mid Century gem. The gorgeous views and stunning architecture made for some amazing photography. Steve is a lovely host, very accommodating and communicative. It was a pleasure working with him, and I would be happy to again in the future.
