We're thrilled to offer this light-filled, 3-story row home and perennial garden and welcome a variety of intentions. PLEASE READ ENTIRE LISTING AND RULES BEFORE MESSAGING. COVID Protocols: • In anticipation of local restrictions tightening as a result of DC's coronavirus numbers increasing and pushing the metrics the city uses into the red zone, we're decided to reduce our total occupancy to 15 guests total. The house itself can accommodate 10 guests. For reservations of 11-15 guests, the house will be preset with a fully enclosed tent on the back deck to extend the living space and accommodate the additional guests. • All out of state travelers will be required to get a COVID test within 72 hours of the reservation start time and must provide documentation of negative results to be admitted. • Upon arrival, all guests will be required to have their temperature taken and answer standard COVID questions (symptom identification, testing, recent travel, etc...), provide full name and contact information for contact tracing (with ID), and wear a mask for the duration of the event unless they are eating/drinking. Whether you're hosting a professional luncheon, client meeting, executive retreat, team building exercise, or just want to get out of the office for a day, we can customize the space and experience to meet your needs. With our in-house private chef, all your refreshment needs will be taken care of (from snacks and coffee to cocktails and hors d'oeuvres to dinner with beverage service). NOTE: Beginning late June, 2020, the house next door is under construction and their work can be heard in the garden and through the walls so it's important to consider this possible disturbance when booking. Work hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm with occasional Saturday overtime. Facilities: • 2 full kitchens with 2 dishwashers, 2 stove/ovens, 2 fridge/freezers, cookware, plates, cups, and utensils • 3 bedrooms + 1 sleeper sofa to accommodate overnight needs • 2.5 bathrooms, 1 on each floor (no bathtubs, standing showers only) • 2 living rooms with down-filled sofas • WiFi throughout (basic speed package included free; higher bandwidth packages available) • Standard table height seating for 14 + 4 bar-height seats included; additional and match set seating and tables available for rent with at least 48 hours advance notice • Filtered water + regular coffee included; snacks, food, and beverage services through SaltSugarFire private chef services available - see sample packages and contact host to discuss your options • 3 Roku Smart TVS (1 mounted in basement, 1 mounted in main floor living room, 1 32" free-standing in 2nd floor bedroom) • Propane grill Included by Request: • Apple TV • Printer (available free for light use; extensive printing or premium print supplies available for a fee) • Disposable napkins and cups Additional Amenities Available (for a fee): • Custom Private Chef Packages (food and beverage) by SaltSugarFire, Private Chef Services • Dedicated, on-site attendant/server • Integrated audio (the entire house is wired for sound; receiver available to rent) • A/V rental options • Concierge services • Bouncer/Security • 10'x10' tent rental (included with reservations of 11-15) • Sun shade sail rental • Coat/Wardrobe rack rental • Tell us what you need and we'll coordinate the arrangements. We are located within walking distance (less than 10 minutes) from the Shaw/Howard Metro Station. No parking on site. Street parking is limited and resident only 7 days a week. Paid lot nearby listed on SpotHero. Uber/Lyft are readily available. The entrance is located up a half flight of steps and the garden is accessed down a half flight of steps. This property is not wheelchair accessible and may be difficult for guests with certain disabilities to access. All renters must sign a service contract. Event liability insurance and other additional licensing or certifications may be required at the host's sole discretion but will be discussed in detail prior to finalizing your reservation. Property will be opened by management at the designated setup time. Client will have open access to the unit starting at the designated event time. Guests not involved in setup/preparations are not permitted until the event's designated start time as defined in service contract. Host will notify you in person 30 minutes prior to your reservation end time to assist with any cleanup and closing instructions and lock up the property behind you. ALL guests must exit the property at the designated end time. Additional hours will be charged in 30-minute increments at the hourly rate specified in the service contract, payable immediately.

Guests may cancel their Booking until 7 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund (including all Fees) of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between 7 days and 24 hours before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price. The Shaw Garden House was the perfect location for our intimate wedding. The garden was a beautiful backdrop both day and night. We got married right at sunset and the transition was amazing with the gorgeous lights strung throughout the backyard. It felt so whimsical and romantic. The food provided by SaltSugarFire was outstanding. The chef, Jenna, was so responsive throughout the whole process and helped create a unique menu to fit our needs and special requests. In addition to all this, we rented the rooms inside for a few of our out of town family members which was a major perk of this venue over others. I could not recommend the Shaw Garden House more highly.

I can't even begin to describe how amazing my experience with Jenna and her garden house was. I was scrambling to find a last minute elopement venue due to coronavirus, and she totally saved our wedding. Jenna was incredibly responsive, and went absolutely above and beyond to give us the best backyard elopement possible. The garden was absolutely STUNNING - she did such a great job cleaning it up for us, working with our florist, etc. In addition, she provided FANTASTIC catering and beverage procurement services. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious and affordable. She was so flexible and accommodating (we rented it on her birthday!), and again the house and garden was just absolutely perfect. If I ever had any reason to come back (or hire Jenna for catering) I would 100% do it!!!
