History of the Space The Studio was renovated in 2015 to become a small art gallery and music venue, located in the heart of Downtown Mansfield, Ohio. Located on the second floor above a local Pharmacy, it was once a karate studio, then became offices, until it was opened up again and transformed into the versatile multimedia studio space it is today. Overlooking the beautiful skyline of historic Downtown Mansfield, the modern studio space is cast in natural light facing the setting sun. The space is a hidden gem in a revitalizing entertainment district in Downtown. Neighborhood Located on Diamond Street, the surrounding neighborhood of the studio space is primarily local business storefronts in historic buildings, and an eclectic mix of nightlife. In a short walk of the North block, a local winery and first class restaurant Hudson & Essex and Cypress Hill Winery, the phenomenal Phoenix Brewing Company, Axe Lounge, Warehouse Tavern, Swavory, Martini's on Main, Relax It's Just Coffee, Main Street Books, Element of Art, Clubhouse Bar, and City Grille Restaurant and Bar. Directly across from the studio space is the large municipal lot with free parking, and the iconic Richland Carrousel Park. The South walk of the block takes you to another fine dining establishment Dan Lew Exchange and China Club, and Mansfield Central Park, surrounded by some beautiful historic buildings and some additional gallery spaces on the South End of Central Park. Layout The Diamond Studio is located on the second floor, accessible from a stairwell next to the Pharmacy entrance on Diamond Street. A gorgeous modern chandelier lights the top of the stairwell. The studio entrance has a small landing next to a security door, and at the end of a short hallway is a marquee shadowbox, perfect for showcasing posters of custom events as people enter the studio. The hallway turns past the marquee, leading into the main studio space overlooking the Downtown skyline. The main studio space is an approximate 500 sq ft open area, with three large windows that give it an spacious feel, furnished with comfortable couches and chairs and a full speaker system with bass along the wall. The space is also home to the local Mankind Murals Inc nonprofit, so vibrant art adorns every wall, and Art Hanging Systems are in place available for custom showcases. This space has been utilized as a small gallery studio, a music venue, a dance floor, a karaoke bar, as well as a regular nonprofit meeting space and film screening venue. A large 7' x 11' blank canvas covers the south wall serving as a custom projector screen. Two smaller studio rooms are adjacent to the main studio space. These adjacent rooms sized appx 12' x 8' and 13' x 11' are furnished with desks, computers, commercial printer, and shelved with art supplies as well as some office and lounge furniture. The larger of the two rooms is a through-way to the restroom. The entire Diamond Studio space is across the hall from an equal sized studio apartment with an open kitchen, which shares the restroom but is locked off during most events.
