About the Space
Welcome to Foreign Lens. A wonderful Bohemian indoor gallery, speakeasy and outdoor event space in the heart of North Beach. We are located in the most historically untouched neighborhood of San Francisco. The space is a block away from where the poet Laurence Ferlinghetti wrote and filmmaker Francis Coppola created the script of the Godfather The gallery (600 sqft), speakeasy (900 sqft), private parklet (1200 sqft) can accommodate up to 120 people. Heaters, lighting, glassware, plates, chairs are available. The indoor space features an art gallery and speakeasy specializing in local artwork adorned by character antique furnishings. Outdoor space can be created in any style, seated or cocktail style, with an outdoor bar and valet service. In-house catering and cocktail options featuring the delicacies of North Beach mixed with, European and California cuisine menu options. The gallery is surrounded by local restaurants, bars, cafes, parks, historical landmarks, and legendary cultural perfect for all event activities: Weddings, birthdays, corporate, meetings any occasion. For your convenience, we provide a full spectrum of event planning services: Food, bar, servers, music entertainment, lighting, photo/video, etc. No two events are alike. Had such a great shoot here last night! The staff was super friendly and accommodating and the chandeliers and furniture were perfect for our music video. I’ll definitely be coming back the next time a projects calls for this kind of space.

We had a great time with our booking here for our wedding welcome party! Tibor was attentive and kind. The space was as advertised and our party really enjoyed the patio. We had a great jazz pianist and then they provided a speaker for us for our own playlist. We ordered pizza from next door and the speakeasy provided drinks. Everyone had a really fun time :) especially the out of town guests who were excited to explore the neighborhood!

This space was an absolute gem! We were looking for a spot to host our friends and family for an informal post-wedding party and had a vision of an eclectic boho-rock theme. It was reasonably priced for a space in North Beach and easily can host 50 people (or more) **Foreign Lens went above and beyond! ** They included a tasting, a pianist and fire dancer that elevated the entire night. They provided appetizers and drinks based on our menu and also let us get food from external Indian caterers. The event manager is so priceless - she listened to all our lofty dreams and worked with us methodically to transform the speakeasy ( from shopping for drapes to putting up a new bar - ooof, we are so grateful) The owner took some frame-worthy photos of us that we will cherish forever!! Big shout out to all the staff at Foreign Lens the night of the party - they were so patient and friendly and we feel so at home in that space now :)
