Rose T. booked a baby shower for 60 people
I sought a venue for a baby shower that could accommodate 50 people comfortably with sufficient parking and seating arrangements. This place did not disappoint. Devotis was also very attentive and helpful. She made sure the place was setup as discussed and had everything we needed to hang up our added decorations.
Tullah B. booked an event for 50 people
I booked the space for a 40th birthday party. Mrs. D was very responsive and communicative from the start of the process. Both her and her staff were helpful from the event's step-up until we left. The location was easy to find for guests with ample parking. We booked all three spaces, which worked out well for our guests. I would recommend this location.
Maria A. booked a 60th birthday party for 50 people
We booked Ms. D's space for a 60th birthday surprise party. The space was quaint, yet perfect for the event. Ms. D and her sister Ms. Michele were very accessible by phone and in person. They also made the space available to view any time during the cafe's open hours during the day, which was very convenient. Ms. Michele made all concessions for decorations and all the media (DJ and projector) we needed. Also, she was available on-site during our event for anything we needed or questions we had; so we appreciated her availability. We had access to the event room and Ms. D allowed us to use the cafe's space after it closed to set up our food and drinks. There was enough room for seating for 50+ guests to dine and dance. Everyone had a wonderful time. The only suggestion I would make is to ensure you understand what amenities are included in the price prior to booking. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this hidden gem. Thanks, Maria

Elizabeth B. booked an event for 30 people
Overview: I was extremely pleased with my rental experience at D's Cafe and Event Space. Details: Hosted a surprise party, renting all three spaces (Cafe, Event Space, Outside Seating) from 3 PM until midnight. Utilized several third party vendors: a sound and lighting tech, a DJ, a 5 piece band, a photographer, a tarot card reader, a bartender and a caterer. Take Aways: 1. Costs/Space Notes. It is sooooo worth the cost to rent all three spaces. We were able to transform the entire space to meet our needs. Mrs. D allowed us to turn the larger room into a lounge area/ gallery. The room is equipped with picture hangers so it was easy to swop out the (exceptional local talent) art work that she has in the space with our own artwork to create an instant vibe. Our primary color for the night was pink and the (amazing) lighting tech was able to highlight our artwork in the dimmed room with pink uplights. Against the white walls and the charactered room the mood was definitely set! The fireplace provided a focal point and looked even more beautiful adorned with candles and flowers. It is very special. The black and white wall served as a perfect backdrop for the bartender who served smoked infused bourbon all evening. Mrs. D is planning to add a couch to the room to make even more of a lounge vibe. I can't wait to see how that elevates an already distinguished space. The outside space was TRANSFORMED into a secret garden vibe in order to accommodate a 32 seat long table with an area for the band. It was well lit, and cozy while maintaining an air of class. The night of our early October event it was a 50 degree low. We were prepared with heaters. However, no one even needed a jacket. Mrs. D and her staff engineered a solution that closed off 3 sides of the space so we were comfortable, warm but it was not stuffy at all. By the time we sat for dinner around 9PM it was perfectly comfortable. I didn't check the temperature but I would guess the space was at least 70 degrees without any heaters! In the night light, with the well place lighting this space shined and was a favorite of our guests. The smaller cafe room was perfect to greet our guests with temperature checks, tea, hand sanitizer, and masks to ensure everyone was comfortable during our event. We cleared out all but three tables and utilized the counter as a zen tea garden. It was perfect. 2. Works Well with Others. As mentioned we had several outside vendors for our event. Mrs. D worked well with them all!!! We were able to communicate prior to the event to ensure all the vendors had everything the needed for the night to be successful. I was planning the event from California and Mrs. D allowed the vendors to see the space prior to my arrival, absent my accompaniment. Everything ran smoothly day of because of a shared attention to detail and a commitment to quality execution. She asked all the right questions and provided solutions when able. Mrs. D is an excellent communicator and a facilitator, that trickles down to her staff who offered significant assistance and created an environment where 3rd party vendors are set up to succeed. 3. Add Ons. Due to the nature of the space and Mrs. D's business she has a lot of things that I would otherwise have to rent from outside vendors. At a reasonable cost she provided: linen, napkins, tea cups, champagne flutes, cocktail glasses, water goblets, flatware, a dishwasher, and bartender insurance. This was such a blessing!!! I did not have to be concerned about renting from a third party, cleaning, or transporting items after the event. I would recommend Mrs. D's rental for all the items listed above, and quite frankly anything else she has that may be of use to you. 4. Professionalism. Everything was communicated clearly. I am a very particular person and none of my inquires or requests where meet with contempt of anguish. Also, we hosted a few entertainers during the event. Neither Mrs. D nor her staff that remained to assist made them feel uncomfortable during the night (there were no stares, or demanding picture requests, etc.). It felt like we were in a small piece of heaven enveloped in love and privacy (curtains were placed in the windows). Notes: My friends are already talking about hosting other events in the space. The one thing I would suggest when booking is to consider the time. We planned the event for D Cafe and Event Space in a little over 2 weeks. That meant we didn't have a lot of time to accommodate for delivery failures (all the flowers I ordered went to California instead instead of the staging location in Georgia) and other contingencies. Mrs. D was open to negotiating early access to the event spaces prior to the 3PM start time. If you are extended that courtesy take it and pay the cost. The extra time is worth it!!!! There are so many opportunities to connect with this unique space and create a truly unique and captivating experience. Time should not restrict your vision. Mrs. D also offers catering. We contracted with a caterer prior to finding the space, otherwise we may have utilized the service. There was a lot of talk about Vaffles (vegan waffles) someone even came in as we were setting up to ask about them. I would like to try the catering if I host another event in the space. I know she also discussed doing a tasting at a recurring event hosted by one of the guest. So I believe they offer flexible catering offerings. Lastly, I think the space is relatively new to Peerspace, however there are some more detailed pictures, including some with 360 views, available on Google Review. There may also be some more interactive looks on the website once launched. We used the 360 photos to gauge the possibilities of the space. They were really helpful. SUMMMARY: Truly unique space that will allow you to perfectly execute your wildest visions. Professional and communicative host and staff. Will return as needed.
