Our largest indoor reception space, the newly renovated Assembly Room features coffered ceilings, contemporary lighting and dark floors. Three full-height doors open onto the lower west terrace and gardens, rented separately. The room also has a nonworking fireplace. A portion of the room has an optional partition for breakout groups. The adjacent North Room will be refurbished as a more informal space that may be used as a break out space during meetings, buffet setup, or as a retreat from the crowd during receptions. Enjoy access to a large serving kitchen for catering service or for limited food preparation. The Assembly Room is the perfect space for a celebration, a larger workshop or office retreat, dinner or a reception. Your event may be expanded by the use of the lower west terrace and gardens, rented separately, which you may tent.

I booked this space for my son’s first birthday and it was great, exactly what we were looking for and our guests loved it! It has everything you need to host any kind of event, the kitchen was very complete, chairs, tables and speakers. Brian was very respectful, kind and very helpful. We only had an issue with one of the tables that was broken and kept falling until all of our tea spilled. Luckily it was at the end of our event but unfortunately the person who was staffing the space for our event was very rude to us as hosts, his attitude was disrespectful and started disarming chairs and tables even before our check out time.

The Staff (Brian, Connor x Russell) ensured that all of my needs were met. From the beginning of communication, to cleaning the facility, they were always on hand. Brian made sure to keep me abreast of all items I needed and even provided a layout so I could do a mock set up. Overall, the space was worked beautifully for my family and I, I will definitely be using Friends of Washington for future events!

I booked this event space with Brian to celebrate my July birthday. First celebration with friends and family since Covid. The room was just as described. It is a great location near Dupont Circle. The room easily hosts 100 guest. My party was with 60 people. Brian helped with finding the catering service as well. Also that was a 5 star experience.
