An award-winning house ("Home of the Year" by San Diego Home & Garden 1986"), this is a one-of-a-kind, colorful and eclectic space, full of quirky surprises in every corner. Style: Eclectic disco meets mid century modern tropical. Perfect for: photo shoots, music videos, commercials, interviews, workshops, meetings, etc. History: Over a century old, the house was built in 1906 by architect Michael Cramer. In 1980, it gets purchased by architect Rob Dickens (from Quigley and Associates - creators of many landmark properties throughout SoCal, including the new San Diego Library in downtown). Dickens spends the next few decades renovating multiple areas, adding a post-modern twist. In 2020, a young married couple from Europe (us!) finally come across the house of their dreams and transform it into the funky universe it is today - "The Disco Church" Some of our favorite things you may enjoy in our spaces: - Tons of natural light - Disco balls - Plants everywhere - LED ceiling lights that can be set to any color or color combination - Unique architectural details such as open-beam, coffered and circular ceilings, curved walls and arches - Quirky art - Neon signs - Bubble gum dispenser - Wood burning fireplace - A collection of 170 vintage Playboy magazines from the 70's, 80's and 90's (can be used as props upon request) - Colorful enclosed porch - Reading corner - Tropical garden with bamboo forest - Hot tub - BBQ - Outdoor gas fire pit - Projector - Separate deck area with swing chair Decor and some of the furniture can be adjusted or removed as needed, upon request. Layout / Spaces available for Peerspace guests: 1st floor and outdoors - Living room (with working fire place) - Dining room / enclosed porch - Kitchen - Bathroom - Multiple outdoor areas (deck, yard with hot tub, garage roof top) You are welcome to use any of the spaces you see in the listing pictures. Absolutely fun environment, and a safe space for spicy content creators to photograph and express themselves. The home was not only inviting, but almost beckoned you to each room. So much personality and love has been poured into that space. Would 100% recommend it to my friends and always be a delight to book again.
