Enhanced COVID-19 Health & Safety Measures

I disinfect all common spaces daily. I provide masks to everyone. I have disposable gloves. I have multiple bottles of hand sanitizer. I have disinfectant spray and wipes. The bathroom has plenty of hand wash, sanitizer and disposable hand towels.

Enhanced cleaning measures:

The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities
High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected
Soft, porous materials have been properly cleaned or removed
Bookings are spaced apart to allow for enhanced cleaning

All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:

Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.

The following equipment is provided for every guest:

Disinfecting wipes or spray and paper towels
Disposable gloves
Disposable masks / face coverings
Hand Sanitizer

About the Space

The art gallery is located at the second floor of a historical building that used to be Vancouver’s first bank 100 years ago. There is a balcony with seating overlooking Main Street and Evergreen. There is a large open hall when you walk in that has also been newly renovated. There are two bathrooms available, also newly renovated. The gallery is totally open with huge floor-to-ceiling Art Deco windows (4 total) stretching across the entire wall facing evergreen. There are two suspended walls (that can be removed for production) with 4 comfy chairs to sit in (that can be removed and put out in the main hall if they are in the way). There is new LED spot lighting, new lamented flooring, walls are freshly painted bright white. The bathroom is accessible, there is an accessible emergency exit as well. The office has a small fridge in case beverages need to be stored.

Parking description

Monday through Tuesday you have to pay on street metered parking 8am to 6pm. After 6pm on weekdays it is free. On weekends on street parking is free. There is a parking lot across the street that has free two hour parking during the week as well.

Lighting description

There are three floor-to-ceiling rounded/ art deco windows. They naturally let light in throughout the day, especially between 10 am and 4pm (since it is staying lighter out later). They are south-facing, directly over Evergreen.

Space is not soundproof

Ambient noise description

I am located on Main Street/ business/ commercial location so there is loud noise sometimes, especially if the ambulance/ firetruck/ motorcycle happens to be driving by or someone with a sports car!

Equipment loading description

I am located on the second floor of a historical building and due to it being on the historic register it is not required to have handicap access so all equipment has to be hauled up a small flight of stairs. This has not caused any problem in the past and I have been able to haul all kinds of furniture up the stairs over the past two years as well as equipment.

Staging area is available

I have an office that can be used by those renting the space and there are two bathrooms for changing.

Some rooms are off-limits for shooting

Until July 2022 I am renting out the back room (it is walled off).

Shooting the exterior of the building is allowed

Electrical system description

There are 5 rows of track led lights to properly light the walls due to there being art on the walls most of the time. They can all or some be shut off. There are plenty of outlets to plug in equipment. If someone needs access to the circuit breaker they will have to let me know.

General Rules

As the gallery owner and manager I will allow outside catering and alcohol but no liquor. Smoking is not allowed. Events can have music.

All ages are allowed in the space

Production insurance is not required

Furniture and decorations may be moved

Yes, art/ wall decor can be moved. I also have to floating/ suspended walls that can be removed for production. I just need one or two people to help me but they can be removed and put in the outer hall out of the way.

Recording devices in bathrooms or dressing rooms are prohibited by the Peerspace Services Agreement.
