This luxurious, contemporary waterfront estate is a truly unique property with exceptional views of Lake Sammamish and the Cascade foothills from nearly every room. The home is flooded with light and filled with colorful furnishings and unique artwork. The outdoors is as exceptional as the interior. A series of terraces and gardens stairstep down to 75 feet of waterfront and a dock, and a renovated boathouse features a bar and kitchenette. At the bottom of a hill, embraced by woods and a stream, the property is only 20 minutes from Seattle and 15 minutes from downtown Bellevue, yet it has an expansive outdoor presence and a private feel. The 3,600 SF Mid-Century modern home has 5 bedrooms and 5 baths, with upscale furnishings. It easily accommodates groups, with an open floor plan and three lounges/gathering areas, in addition to the boathouse and many outdoor spaces. This is an ideal setting for family reunions, retreats, girlfriend getaways, small weddings, bachelorette parties, bridal or baby showers, workshops and celebrations of all kinds. The great room, overlooking the gardens and lake, encompasses a spacious seating area, a dining area with a table for 10 and a completely outfitted chef’s kitchen with a Sub-Zero refrigerator, gas cooktop with built-in grill, Dacor oven and microwave and Bosch dishwasher. A 10 ft. granite island offers additional seating, and a balcony off the dining area leads to the upper terrace. Through French doors off the great room, the sunken media lounge is a sophisticated space that’s filled with art. The centerpiece is a 10 ft. granite wet bar with Sub-Zero beverage refrigerator and dishwasher; contemporary dark gray cabinets and floating shelves are fully outfitted with a commercial blender and contemporary bar glasses and barware, making the space ideal for mixology. With a leather sectional around a 75-inch HD TV (with 5.1 surround-sound), and a poker/games table, the media lounge is at the center of gatherings. There are four smart TVs, including the 75-inch screen in the media lounge, a 65-inch in the family room and two 55-inch TVs, one in the main suite and one in the bunk room. In addition to live TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, Peacock and additional apps are available. The home also features a whole-house Sonos sound system, with 6 different zones of speakers in all the common areas able to stream Spotify, Pandora and other services. In addition, the entire property—indoors and out—has ultra-high-speed Internet connectivity, via a comprehensive Eero mesh system. Outside, overlooking the lake, the renovated boathouse has a two-level bar and a kitchenette with full refrigerator and dishwasher. There is also a blender and barware, as well as outdoor dishes and utensils. Just outside the boathouse, a flagstone patio has a dining table for 8 and a built-in professional grill. A deck on the lake side of the boathouse is a cozy setting, with outdoor furniture grouped around a fire table. The outdoors is the star of the show at this spectacular lake retreat. With beautiful, Northwest-inspired plantings, garden paths and lawn, plus a 65-foot dock, you feel fully immersed in nature. And there’s a lot of nature to see. Blue herons, bald eagles, river otters and deer are frequently seen, and birdfeeders draw in diverse birds. There are three stable, maneuverable kayaks and a canoe, as well as cornhole, for outdoor activities. The lakeside terrace is ideal for socializing events, since it’s at the water’s edge, and it has a sport court surface that’s ideal for dancing or recreation. A contemporary table on this terrace seats 10. There is also a burgeoning organic herb and vegetable garden alongside the lake that’s fun to wander through. Lake Sammamish is one of the warmest lakes in Western Washington, and we invite you to enjoy swimming and sunbathing, or relaxing in the hot tub. The lake is hugely popular for watersports during warm weather, especially waterskiing and wakesurfing. There are two suites—one king and one queen—plus two additional queen bedrooms and a bunkroom for four. The three bedrooms on the lower level have French doors that open to gardens and terraces. With a gravel upper parking lot for 6 or 7 vehicles and space in front of the house for 2, there is plenty of room for parking. For additional parking needs, the owners recommend off-site parking and shuttles, and work with renters on specifics. A “forest stairway” with several landings brings guests from the upper lot down to the house, and a second staircase, along the north side of the house, allows visitors direct access to lakefront activities.
