The space is a shared, collaborative and open workspace. In order for everyone to peacefully co-exist, there are some best practices that we must follow. These are not binding rules, but they are strong suggestions from the management.
✓ Be friendly. You'll probably discover that the space is home to motivated, independent self-starters just like you. Introduce yourself and get to know your neighbours. You may even find ways to collaborate! Plenty of businesses take off when people with common goals and complementary skills come together.
✓ Be considerate and respectful of others. We follow the campsite philosophy - leave things as good as or better than you found them. Push chairs in, clean off work spaces, erase white boards, etc. Our space is
shared and everyone must work to maintain it.
✓ Believe in what we're doing. And let it show. Do your part to promote a positive, productive, pleasant experience at the space. Be supportive of our management and your fellow members so we can all be more successful.
✓Engage with the community. The thing that makes the space more than just a place to work is the community. That includes YOU. You have the power to make our community something truly great. Use it!
✓Let people focus and do their work. Some of us put on headphones, others get their game face on. Regardless of how you or your co-members express it, be respectful of signals that say "do not disturb."
✓ Practice good phone etiquette. Phone calls in the common space are fine if you talk at a reasonable volume and are okay with background noise. If you need privacy, take a walk outside or use the insulated quiet of your car. On the flip side, if you are easily distracted by noise, grab a good set of headphones and tune everyone out.
Be accountable for your actions. Should any action or inaction on your part harm or cause damage, you agree to own up to it and cover any related costs.
Be accountable for your guests. Your guests, students, participants - any non-member that you bring into the space, however you label them - are your responsibility.
✓ Consume alcohol, food, etc. at your own risk. The space isn't a restaurant or a bar. If you want to eat and drink, do so at your own discretion and risk. You also must be 21 to consume alcohol on our property. We assume no liability for illness, accidents, or any bad thing that results from your consumption of any substance of any kind.
Mind your own business. We work in close proximity to one another. How private you keep your or your customers' information is up to you, but do not share, reproduce, or use information or materials that belong to others.
Do your part to keep things safe. Let us know if a light bulb is out, a door is not latching properly, or you see anything at all that needs repair. Keep our network safe, too. Do not upload or use files that contain viruses, malware, etc. that may damage the network, computers, or other equipment.
✓ If you see something, say something. If you see someone who you don't think should be in the building, or something feels amiss, immediately tell the community manager. We are a community, so give us suggestions on how we can make the space even better. We're interested in both large and small suggestions, from new ideas for member benefits to ways we can enhance the co-working space.
