About the Space

We are (1) fully furnished, (2) get plenty of natural light, which can be blocked if desired, and (3) are in Toronto's East End (no traffic!) WE CAN OFFER YOU THE FOLLOWING FOR YOUR PRIVATE EVENT: — Can expand seating to 40+ people. Casual seating for 12 is included. You can also add 30 folding chairs, 4 large folding tables) (+100) — Private, in-suite rest room (not shared with building, maintained by us) — Private, in-suite kitchenette — Projector (+100) — Whiteboard (+100) — Mood Lights (the string, fairy, neon lights) (+120) FREE, BLAZING FAST WiFi — Rogers, Canada's most reliable network STYLING We have an aesthetically pleasing space available for you, with 3 massive South-facing loft windows (for lots of sunlight all day), a pecan wooden floor, and all the comforts you need to host a small event in our venue. COMFORTS — Kitchenette with filtered water, cups, mugs, tea, latte mixes (plz wash, dry, and put back items) — Furniture & lounge seating (couches, bar top, stools, etc.) — Mini-fridge to keep your drinks cool — A/C Air Conditioning & Heating — Private washroom w. toilet — Filtered water with cups SEATING & TABLES — Large 8'x2' wooden bar top — Over a dozen areas to sit across all furniture, included (stools, couch, ottoman, saucer chairs, hammock chair, etc.) — Can expand seating to 40+ seats, with: extra 30 folding chairs & 4 folding tables [6'x3'] (+100) TOOLS AND PERKS We have a bluetooth sound system you can use at no extra charge. Big screen on a swiveling wall-mount, for tethering your laptop (HDMI, portrait-orientation [vertical] only) (+100) PARKING — Free street parking on Carlaw Ave after 6pm, and some mornings. Otherwise $3/h — Free building lot parking for short durations and loading/unloading. — Free street parking on side streets — Private lots nearby under $10 for a flat day rate. ===== FAQ — What's check-in look like? We send you an access code to enter our studio! — Lots of studios are shared, will I be sharing the space with others during my rental? No way Jose!! We would never want to share studio space with others, so you won't either! — I don't like using shared common-area restrooms, do you have a private washroom? You betcha! You can also use it as a change room as well. — Lots of studios are located in old buildings and can be hard to find. Is yours? Nope! We're a private unit, located literally right at the entrance of our building! — Can I bring pets and babies? Absolutely. Please just give us a heads up if you bring pets. — Is there an elevator? We have several elevators in our building. — Will you provide security? Yes, on certain occasions we may provide a doorman to ensure that your party is safe and no one hassles you. *PRICING PREMIUMS: — Our listed rate is for weekdays during our open hours (6am-9pm) for small creative events. Kindly note that for larger events, and events after 9pm, there is an added fee. — Two hours minimum for events, which starts at $350. Each extra hour is +$125/h. — Please add 13% HST to all rates to arrive at the final price. — When inquiring, kindly factor in set-up time, and clean-up time to your total hours.

Parking description
There a variety of free and metered parking spots available within blocks of our studio. Parking is free from 6pm-midnight on weekdays. There are also paid parking lots.
 
General Rules
All bookings bound by the terms and conditions at https://torontoeventspacerentals.ca/terms MUSIC / LOUDNESS NO DJs, nor outside speakers (we provide you a bluetooth audio speaker system)! We are in a work/live building which means that even though our walls are insulated and you won't hear our neighbours, if you blast your music, they'll hear YOU. We want to keep everyone happy, so we have provided the perfect wireless bluetooth speaker which you can play at maximum volume without having to worry about bothering our neighbours. OVERTIME Per Peerspace's policy, overtime will be billed in half-hour increments. The space must be vacated and all items brought into the space must be removed by the end time of your booking reservation. Overtime will be billed in half-hour increments at 2x our listed hourly rate. CLEANING / DAMAGES Cleaning fee is NOT included in the hourly rate, therefore guests are expected to leave the space in the same condition as they found it in. Guests must respect the space and we ask/appreciate that guests tidy up after themselves. Guest must remove any equipment or rentals they bring in, and they should factor this setup and teardown time in their booking hours. Failure to tidy will result in a punitive cleaning fee. Please take great care of our space. No nails, screws, staples or penetrating items should be used on our walls. Any tape or gummed backing materials must be properly removed. Damages or scuffs to walls, floors, furniture, etc., will be billed to the credit card on file with Peerspace. FURNITURE Please notify us in advance if you need to move furniture in the space to suit your event needs. MISCELLANEOUS There is no smoking EVER allowed in the space. No smoke bombs, nor oil-based fog machines. No glitter or baby oil/body shimmer can be used either. There is no open flame or frying allowed on site or any cooking that will create a large amount of smoke or odour as our facility is not ventilated. No drugs of any kind, nor vaping are allowed in the space. Please disclose if you intend to bring alcohol. NON-NEGOTIABLES If you're planning to throw a massive "rager" type party (loud, messy, spilling into common areas, lots of drinking, drug use, etc.), we suggest looking elsewhere, as our events are reserved for tame and mature purposes only. Events causing nuisances will be immediately ended and removed without refund. PERMITTED and ACCEPTABLE uses include but are not limited to private intimate functions like baby showers, mixers, cocktails, small receptions, birthdays, etc., and these must be private events and not open to the general public, with special permission requested for events larger than 30 people. We have CCTV for insurance and loss-prevention purposes. None of the footage is ever discussed, nor shared with third parties unless required by law or contract (i.e. Police or Insurance company)

Enhanced Health and Safety Measures
We clean at LEAST once daily. We take pride in having a tidy and sanitary rental space for all to enjoy. Upon departure, all guests are responsible for tidying and putting everything back as they found it.
Enhanced cleaning measures:
  • The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities
  • High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected
  • Soft, porous materials have been properly cleaned or removed
All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
  • Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
  • Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
  • Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.
The following equipment is provided for every guest:
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Disinfecting wipes or spray and paper towels
The space has the following features:
  • Capacity is limited based on governmental guidelines
  • Space has access to outdoor air ventilation
  • Space has been reconfigured to allow for physical distance

A great functional space for any kind of production, as it includes many amenities useful for shoots. We shot a series of educational videos in the white space and were able to get a great studio look to our shots. The host, Danny, was friendly and communicative. I’m looking forward to booking here again.

No, I would not book again.

Easily accessible space with a smooth check-in process, with clear instructions everywhere and prompt and polite communication from the host from day one. The space was also warm and inviting and well decorated. Unfortunately however, it wasn’t the *cleanest* on arrival. Full smelly garbage gan, rotten food leftovers in the sink, sticky goo on the coffee table, and the Bluetooth speaker listed wasn’t working but Danny texted me the name of a different one. I think this is a great space for photoshoots but it felt a little overpriced for my workshop needs but all in all it’s a well-run business with good customer service.
