Greenline Photo Studio is the everything studio. Not only does it have 5 shooting bays so multiple projects can be produced at the same time. We also have everything from lighting stands to seamless backdrops that come included with rental. The space is perfect for multiple types of shoots. Our location is amazing for anyone driving a vehicle since we are located off of 93. For the transit rider, as we are located a 4-minute walk from the redline. Please note, We are a Photography Studio and cannot promise to be a good location to record videos/recordings. We only supply constant lights and no strobe lights. We do not supply camera lenses and cameras. We do not supply receivers and triggers. We also do not supply Wifi. We are also a membership-based studio. So please inquiry about available hours, instead of the Peerspace Calendar. Also, our studio is usually booked on weekends 2 weeks in advance. Please do not try booking 24 hrs before a shoot. I am going to write this review as an honest account of what I experienced in the hopes that the host will address these issues for future renters. When arriving, the building was not clearly marked as the actual address number was not on the building or above the entrance door. There was also no indication of where the parking lot was with any signage and no written instructions were provided as to where the lot was located. I had to call for help to locate the lot once I arrived and there was only one spot available that day. The parking in front of the building is only for 3 hours at time, then the car has to be moved to avoid getting ticketed. Parking on the street filled up quickly and finding spots was difficult for my team and my client. Although this is sometimes the nature of city parking, I would have preferred a more thorough explanation of what to expect when arriving and where the lot was actually located. Once inside the building, the studio was located on the second floor. This was not indicated in the listing and would definitely be an issue for people who have difficulty with stairs. This was a concern for me as I was photographing an ill client. I would have liked to known this in the listing. Once inside the space, there was a giant hairball on the makeup station area as well as hairballs, dirt, and glitter all over the floor in the studio. It had clearly not been cleaned in quite some time, and my team and I were shocked at the state of uncleanliness - especially during a pandemic when cleaning standards are required to have increased. There was also a studio robe on the wardrobe rack that had makeup stains all over it, which I did not use as I had brought my own studio robe for my client. The a/c was not on upon arriving and it was rather warm in there. It was turned on once requested, but wish the temperature was comfortable when arriving. The ceilings in the studio are low, no higher than 8’ and there was only one small window for any natural light shooting, and it was adjacent to shelving unit and not directly usable on a set. I had asked about studio lighting and was told that there was some continuous lighting. It’s true that there was continuous lighting but these were not proper studio lights and one of the units had a broken bulb inside and a hairball hanging off of it. I came prepared with my own strobes and continuous light. The backdrop paper was also ill kept and there were dents in the paper as well as heel marks all over the rolled out part on the floor. It was old and overused as also evidenced by the faded coloring on the edges. I asked to cut it and was told no. Backdrop paper is supposed to be replaced once it is no longer looking fresh. Backdrop paper is also something that should not be used with multiple clients during a pandemic as paper cannot actually be sanitized. I was surprised that fresh paper was not provided. For seating, there were no apple boxes. There were a few chairs and a stool, one of which was sticky. There were no v-flats or wifi in the space, so even though there is a bluetooth speaker, there is no way to listen to streaming music on it. The positives were that there were some eclectic wallpaper backdrops. The cyc was pretty cool but was not a smooth surface. It was easy to book the space and Khael was pretty responsive. Overall, the experience of the studio was not of a professional standard. As indicated in the opening statement, I am writing this a neutral and honest account of what was experienced. I hope that these issues get addressed for future renters and a more detailed description of the space will be updated and more thorough communication provided, as this studio does have great potential.
