About the Space
This listing is for the first floor of a home with a very warm and inviting feel. The home has progressively been remodeled to reflect a modern and Scandinavian style. Your rental will include the kitchen, full bath, dining room, and living room. The kitchen was remodeled in 2020 and has an open layout, tall ceilings, a beautiful built in breakfast nook, and features a custom wood slat wall. The entire space is bright with natural light and the widows have white curtains that work great to diffuse light as well. This space is great for product and lifestyle photography, as well as cooking photography and videography. Previous guests include ABC television network, Crossway Publishing, Mott St. Chicago Restaurant, and Buddig Meat.

Lighting description
Our home faces east and is brightest in the front of the home (living room) in the morning and brightest in the back of the home (kitchen) in the evening. The windows have white curtains, which you can use to diffuse the light if needed.

Ambient noise description
Our home is located on a quiet block in the northeast area of Oak Park. You might hear kids running up and down the street, or playing in front. The air conditioning units are at the back of the house next to the kitchen. You are welcome to turn the air off if needed. There is a thermostat in the dining room on the first floor, and then on the second floor in the back bonus room. Our neighbors on the north side of the home do have chickens and a rooster. You may hear the rooster crow for 10 seconds, but this is usually in the early morning.

There is a parking pad in the back of the home that you are welcome to use. If you park there and open the back gate, you'll be at the back door, which leads to the kitchen. Both the front and back door have a set of stairs.

This rental is for the first floor of the home, minus the first floor office, which will be used to store all toys and personal belongings. The second floor is off-limits unless otherwise discussed.

Electrical system description
The electricity was thoroughly updated in May of 2020 to be up to the current code in Oak Park, IL. You'll find outlets all over the first floor, and the circuit breaker is in the basement. When you go down the basement steps, you'll see a blue door, which leads to a little room with a work bench. The circuit breaker is in this room, on the back wall. Feel free to call us if you need any help!

General Rules
We believe in great hospitality. Within great hospitality, you need a welcoming environment (kindness, inclusivity, cleanliness, ect.) and safety (clean air, locks, smoke detectors, ect.) so that you, our guests, can truly feel comfortable and at home.
We have a few general rules so that we can continue to use this space well.
-Please leave the home in the same condition as how you found it.
-No smoking inside the home.
-No shoes inside.
-If you choose to move any furniture, we ask that it be moved back in its place before you leave.
-We anticipate that the kitchen will be lightly used for snacks and drinks during a rental. If choosing to cook, we ask that you leave the kitchen how you found it and be sure that all burners are off and the oven is off before leaving.
-This rental is for the first floor of a two-story house (about 1,000 square feet). Access to the second floor is not permitted unless otherwise discussed. There is a first floor office that is also off-limits and used to store our personal belongings and toys so that they are out of your way.
-No glitter, confetti, feathers, or similar decor that would make cleaning more tedious than the expected clean up. Use of these items will result in an extra $200 cleaning fee.

It is expected that all renters have insurance that would cover them if anything should happen.
Furniture and decorations may be moved
Furniture and decor can be moved as you see fit. Please do not scrape sharp things across the wood floor. We recommend taking a picture before moving so that you can return the items back to their original locations before you leave.

It is important to us that this space is clean and safe for our guests and ourselves. We are following the CDC guidelines and are happy to chat through any concerns or questions you might have.
Enhanced cleaning measures:
- The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities
- High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected
- Soft, porous materials have been properly cleaned or removed
All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:
- Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
- Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
- Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
- Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
- Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.
The following equipment is provided for every guest:
