Hourly professional-grade recording studio available on the Upper West Side in a doorman building by Riverside Park. Currently booking for April 22 and later. I’ve set up a professional-grade studio to record my own music, and I’m interested in renting it out to supplement my income. I’m also always down to meet other musicians in the area and work on new projects so it’s a win/win. It’s important for me to say off the bat that this is a safe space for POC, queer and trans people, and people of any age or musical experience level. This is a residential, doorman building with strict COVID policies in place, so no large groups — max of 3 people at a time for a session. You need to wear a mask in the lobby and elevator. Max of one instrument or large bag per person. For renting the studio, there are two options: OPTION A: The rate is $80/hour for the space. Minimum of 3 hours per session. This gives you access to all the gear, and a private bathroom. You will need to bring your own laptop, and I will help you get set up. This is recommended for experienced producers/engineers and artists who already have a workflow going together. I will be in and out of the apartment as this is my living space, but you will have privacy in the room while you are working. If you have questions about any of the gear I will be there to help. Also, the studio space and bathroom will be cleaned and sanitized between sessions. OPTION B: If you are a solo artist, musician, podcaster, or filmmaker who is looking for help with production, I can offer my services as well as the space for a total of $150/hr. There is no hourly minimum for this option. If you think we can bang something out in an hour, I’m down to try! I have experience working in recording studios and delivering demos for major music publishing companies and record labels, so I understand the songwriting, production, recording, mixing and mastering process front to back. My experience is mostly with hip/hop, pop and electronic music, but I’m flexible. I will be there to offer creative support to help you execute your vision, as well as provide technical expertise with audio. If you choose this option I will also be able to use my extensive sample library, audio plugins and in-the-box mixing and mastering tools to help you get the perfect audio that you’re looking for. This includes the full fleet of FabFilter and Soundtoys plugins, Waves essentials, Autotune, Melodyne, Serum, Izotope, Soundtheory and more. If you want samples of my work, beats, etc let me know and I’m happy to send them your way. If you need me to continue with any production/mixing/mastering work after the session, I will charge $40/hr. I will also need publishing and master recording credits on any composition that uses my production work. This percentage is negotiable and depends on how much work I’ve put into the project.
