About Campbell Salgado Studio

This distinctive and versatile outdoor venue, nestled in the Sellwood Moreland neighborhood, has been a cherished photography studio for numerous years. Its charm and uniqueness never fail to amaze those who step inside its bounds. Photographers are treated to a diverse array of unparalleled backdrops and sheltered areas, each offering a unique canvas for their artistry. The facility includes walls specially designed for attaching velcro or clip-on fabric backgrounds with ease. Highlights of the space include a bamboo wall, a copper facade, and an area adorned with vintage shiplap, among others. The interplay of light and shadow changes throughout the day, providing a range of natural lighting conditions. The studio is equipped with four light-diffusing roofs, which not only offer a soft, shaded environment but also protection from light rain, making it ideal for diverse lighting setups. Over the years, the blend of natural light and artificial strobe lighting has been a favored approach in this space. Overall, the studio's flexible and creative environment is well-suited for a variety of photographic endeavors. While it's possible to conduct outdoor sessions in light or misty rain, we've observed that the lighting conditions tend to be cooler on such days. RATES Weekday hourly rate is $95/hour Weekend hourly rate is $120/hour HEAT Two restaurant-style ceiling heaters are included in the rental cost. BATHROOM A bathroom is conveniently situated next to the space and can also be used for changing outfits. SEATING The space offers a variety of seating arrangements to suit your needs. This includes six stackable plastic Adirondack chairs, a wrought iron table accompanied by five chairs, a chaise lounge, as well as an outdoor loveseat with a matching chair. Additionally, a selection of stools is also available for your convenience. ACCESSIBILITY When bringing in equipment, you'll encounter four concrete steps equipped with handrails. The outdoor area features a variety of floor surfaces, some of which may be uneven, such as cobblestone paths and areas with loose rocks. Additionally, access to the bathroom involves ascending six wooden steps into the house, which also has a handrail. SOUND Given our proximity to a busy arterial street, we advise against using this site for video sound recording purposes. However, we do provide an outdoor sound system that you can connect to. Playing ambient music through this system has been effective in masking street noise. ENTRANCE There is a direct and private entrance to this space via a side door from the street, offering convenient access for loading and unloading equipment, as well as for the entry of talent and clients. PARKING Ample free street parking is available, with guests typically able to find a parking spot within one block of the entrance. ADD ONS: STROBE LIGHTING An additional lighting kit is available for rent, which includes 2 Elinchrom strobe lights with soft boxes, stands, and a radio transmitter/receiver, all for a rate of $55 per hour. BACKDROPS You can rent a variety pack of cloth backdrops for $45, which are designed for easy attachment to the wall. Additionally, seamless paper rolls are available for rent at $50 each, with a current stock that includes black, white, gray, blue, and purple colors. EARLY DROP-OFF / OR LATE PICKUP For early or late drop-offs or pickups by rental services or caterers, prior arrangements can be made. An additional charge of $10 per hour is applicable for this extended service. KITCHEN USE* A flat fee of $100 is charged for the use of the prep kitchen, ideal for catered meals, drinks, and snacks. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove and oven, an air fryer, a blender, and a microwave. Please note that dishware, flatware, and glassware for events are not included in this fee. Cancellation Policy

Guests may cancel their Booking until 7 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund (including all Fees) of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between 7 days and 24 hours before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price. Booking cancellations submitted less than 24 hours before the Event start time are not refundable. Learn more

All Bookings are subject to Peerspace’s Grace Period policy which provides a full refund for Bookings cancelled within 24 hours from receipt of a Booking Confirmation but no later than 48 hours prior to the Event start time.
